They buy a custom made suit while taking a tuk tuk tour of Bangkok.

They fall for one of those gem scams.

A guy picks up a Thai girl from a beer bar and is surprised when she asks for money the next day.

Buying drugs on walking street and having to fork out all your cash to pay off a bribe to the police.

Finding out she is a he in the shower.

Renting a room on Kho Sarn road and being shocked when you can't bring any guests into your room.(Getting shocked by the post nuclear cockroaches)

Getting pickpocketed at the entrance to Nana Plaza.

Bottle of water firmly clamped in hand 24hours a day.

Doesn't go to temples because they are 'closed' for the day.

Exhaust burn on right calf from exhaust of hired scoot

Gravel burn on face from scooter accident

If in Pattaya

Face down dead on the pavement having lept from condo

Ooh forgot one of my favorites.

Making comments about Thai/Foreign couples as they walk past. even better when they are in a couple

Love that one.

Nothing like pointing at some stuck up bitch and saying out loud "Have you seen that big lump of pasty skinned white trash there? Just made a comment to her partner about the fact that my wife and I are together and she thinks it's disgusting. She obviously has issues that a couple of similar age but different nationalities can be together
"
Wife likes to say something in Thai so other locals hear.

Tore shreds of a woman on one of the few excursions to KSR when the missus wanted to go shopping. Met an old friend of her's there and stopped for a bit of banter. Friend was joking that I was so handsome. I was messing about back, as was my wife. I was joking about my wife's age as she is a bit older than me, making jokes about how she was so young and beautiful.

Some enlarged giingerish sunburned woman with her pasty skinned stick insect boyfriend made a comment as she walked passed about foreign men in Thailand and thinking they are gods gift to women, and the women only wanting money.

Tore strips off the slag, as did my wife, her friend, the other market sellers. Woman was mortified, her partner just backed off and sort of hid against a wall.

All the foreigners around watched on in amusement.

Twas a good afternoon all in.

My second day in Bangkok: I was sitting, eating street food. Couple walks by - guy is good looking, young, maybe British, in a suit. Thai girl on his arm is unreal - taller than him (maybe the heels), fake *beep*, sundress, drop dead gorgeous. Me and the food vendor guy stare as they walk past. I look at the food vendor and say, in my best attempt at a Thai accent, "thai girlfriend" - dude busts out laughing.

On day two I also figured out the tuk-tuk scam - I had already seen all the sights I wanted to so I took the free tuk-tuk to who nows where and then ditched them. Did this a couple of times for the fun of trying to get myself unlost.

I love Asia - Korea excluded.....

Those are pretty good. Let me add one that could top them all:

The guy who screams "Stop that, you son of a bitch!" when he gets a water squirter full to the face during the April water festival (SongKran) is definitely a newbie. Actually, he's a dumbass who hasn't done his homework and researched Thailand's holidays.

That would be me, however, I ain't a noob, just hate Songkran.

Waste of time, nothing about what it used to be about now, just an excuse for people to get messed up and act like knobbers.

Try getting out of Bangkok and into the provinces and see what it's really like. Count the dead body outlines on the road. The men grabbing women's *beep* on motorbikes as they 'wet them and flour them'

Just getting a room there would qualify someone for me. Neutral Can't imagine someone who has already been to Thailand going there (unless they're at the end of the their trip and truly down and out.)

Or they're stoked.

They could be at the end of their contracts in a place like Korea and just want to lie back on a warm beach for a week or three while looking for the next gig. There's much more to Thailand than the big town.

Thailand newbies throw caution to the wind and have comedic level of naivety. Thailand veterans think that because they've been to a place once they know everything about it and will kill an hour bargaining over 50 cents. I'd hang out with a Thailand newbie over a Thailand vet any day of the week.

Hey man, don't let a bit of reason spoil a self-righteous party.

Come on, OP, you're better than that.
