Quite a few distance degrees are real degrees. The worth of the degree depends on the institution and accreditation. Those who "turn up their noses" at accredited degrees merely display their own ignorance.

Yes, that is true. In the case of U of Waterloo, there is no mention anywhere on the documentation that the degree was completed by correspondence. They view it exactly as if it was completed on campus. So, when you get your diploma and transcript, you are getting the same as a regular graduate.

Plus, U of W is one of the best universities in Canada, so there is actually prestige from having a degree from there.

As I said before, it is the best option in my case. Only, it is so damned expensive and paying for it is a problem.

Only if you've heard of it. Most Koreans have not.

Don't forget that it's not 4 years, it's a series of semesters strung out over 4 years. You can always fly back over to E. Europe and work over the summers, and you can work over the shorter winter breaks, too, if you choose to.

There's very little way around locking in and knocking out the degree, and, like the OP said, sooner or later it'll come in handy.

Best advice: Suck it up, get back to Canada and knock it out. Everyone else you'll be competing against has. The downside on the OP's part is that many employers may discount or not count the experience because it was obtained before the degree. That sucks, but that's often the case, no matter the level of the degree.
