I honestly don't know which "gen" this iPod Touch is. It doesn't have volume control on the body, and the "home" button is touch sensitive, rather than an actual button you can press. It's been housed in a case since I bought it and it's actually had very little use -- which is why I'm selling it now. It comes in the original box with the USB connection cable. It does not come with headphones -- I replaced them with Shure in-ears and don't remember what happened to the originals.
Anyways, it doesn't have the newest update, but it does have maps and email, etc. All in all, it's in excellent condition.
Selling for 265,000.

| First gen. New 16gb 2nd gens are 370k, this would be a fair price for a used 2nd gen in v. good condition, but optimistic for the older model, especially without updates. |

The purchase date is January of 2008. I bought it from someone who had used it very little. I took it off his hands and realized I didn't really need it either. Last time I used it was on a snowboarding trip. Before that, a few months. I checked the battery and it holds a long charge. I didn't time it, but I could if anyone wanted me to.
Nice Vedder profile picture by the way. |

I checked Danawa.com and saw that the 2nd generation was going for 344,000 (low). Since the iPod is in excellent condition, having seen little usage and being stored in a case, I figured taking off 25% of the price would be good enough. I think the newest update costs $9.99. I'm open to negotiation. |

I'm looking to buy a new MP3 player, but I'm seriously broke at the moment having just come back from 16-days in rip-off New York.
If you haven't sold it in a couple of weeks, re-post with a revised price and maybe we can jiggy. |

If a new 2nd gen is 344k. then 265k for a 3rd hand, 1st gen model is very optimistic.
Unless someone has a good reason not to i) buy new or ii) look for a similar deal on a used 2gen, you might have more luck in the 150-175k range. Still, your sale, gl with it |

| If I was in the market I'd much rather get a 1st generation. The 2nd generation firmware is (for the time being) jailbreak resistant. The price is good IMO. |

| I would say the 2nd generation touch is worth getting for the external volume controls alone. I can't imagine how annoying it would be to have to fiddle about on the screen to change the volume a bit when I can just do it now with it still in my pocket. |

QFE
The ability to jailbreak far exceeds the built-in volume controls as far as overall "functionality" of this item is concerned.
It's the reason I'm still using a 2nd gen hacked iPhone, because it works with any sim card, and I don't have to pay for so many apps.
If you're only buying one of these for it's music player ability, you might as well get an 80G classic, the iP(h)od(ne) is far more than a media player.....with the right applications installed. |

| How come a 1st gen has a home button that's touch oerated and NOT a regular button? They were never made.. I still use a 1st gen, but I would love to switch with a 2nd generation... for the speaker and volume controls... I don't see much reason why jailbreaking an ipod (as opposed to an iphone, which can then take all sim cards) is important. There are tons of apps that can be used for free, and after apple went crazy with their apps, i've never had a need to jailbreak mine... |
