So here is my situation

I'm finishing my contract on march 11 - i read online that we can extend our visa stay for up to 30 days after the last date. I will do this, however i want to stick around for the next couple months til around may so i can show my parents around when they come here

Right now, i'm not sure whether i can book my flight show my school/education board for pension and flight reimbursement back and then change the date of the flight to sometime in May when i will want to return home so i can still get it paid by the school

Secondly, after my 30 days extension on my visa, do i just leave the country then come right back into korea and get my passport stamped with a tourist visa and have up to 90 days (i'm from Canada)

Is there any way i can extend my visa for 90 days or something like that so i don't have to leave the country then come back?

help me please!!!

thanks

Out and back. As a Canuk you get 6 months.
inside Korea you can ONLY get a maximum of 30 days as your extension.

You finish on Feb 11 and you'll have 30 days to leave. That's till March 11. Go to Japan and come back. That will give you another 30 days on a tourist visa. That's till April 11 (plus the days you were in Japan). Then get an extension on your tourist visa. You'll need to give them a viable reason for extending. (I once got a 2 week extension but I don't know what the max is.) A 2 week extension will get you to around the end of April. You may have to make a second trip to Japan if you want to stay for May. It depends on what the max extension is and that may depend on your reason for extending.

He extends 30 days, so he needs 30 more.

How is he ignorant? He just got the months mixed up. The end is March 11, not Feb 11.

O.K., how's this:

That's till May 11 (plus the days you were in Japan). You can then get an extension on your tourist visa. You'll need to give them a viable reason for extending. (I once got a 2 week extension but I don't know what the max is.) A 2 week extension will get you past the 25th of May.

Because he said he's Canadian. THEN, ttompatz reaffirmed.... he gets a 6 month tourist visa. First two posts says it all.

No need to go to Japan, come back, extend the visa, maybe go back to Japan again, etc. etc. Reading the first two posts explains everything. Hence, the idiot comment.

Simple, really.

I didn't understand ttompatz post. Didn't know Canadians and Brits get 6 months. (I take it that's what CanUK means). Wow, you guys are lucky! They really singled out Americans on that one. Must have been a retaliation for U.S. policies.

Only Canadians get 6 months (last time i checked) because it's a mutual deal between the 2 countries. Hence, the US is not being singled out as it's mutual between the US and SK, although change is in the works. And, canuck refers to Canadians, no link to the UK. If you're not aware, ttompatz is on the leading edge in these matters.
