I've actually received a few private mails about this issue from F-class holders who actually have writtent to me that they are worried about being put through an increadible amount of inconvenience from this mess.
I will be enquiring on the process on how to file a formal complaint against ATEK and for those who wish to are concerned about their future visa status change, you are welcome to msg me privately for the process on how to do it with your spouse.
The Ministry WILL act on formal complaints. While I am collecting messages here, I will relay this to those who have written me on the procedural steps, documentations required and any other needed materials to support your complaint (don't delete ATEK's emails).
I will be providing a new email address to those as a centralized mail forwarding to other residents in this country who wish to become involved in stopping this current line of action by ATEK.
I will keep you posted via private mail.

Has it ever occurred to you that the "equal checks for everyone" is really a ploy to get immigration to see how discriminatory their policies really are? I don't think the mission is to inflict pain on F holders, but rather to have restrictions on E holders lifted. |

Right.
Those who have an F visa of some sort should not have anything to fear, unless they have something to hide.

Do you really think Immigration gives 2 cents about ATEK or their complaints? |

ATEK hasn't done anything other than inform people on discrimination practices. E-2 Visa holders have filed complaints with the HRC of Korea against KIS.
Do you want to stop ATEK from communicating with people by e-mail? Wow, good luck! Do you want to stop E-2 Visa holders from filing complaints? Wow, good luck!
What an ego you must have . |

Given the fact that immigration's selective testing is cited to break Korean and International laws on discrimination, I don't see a complaint by F-series people holding water IF the Korean government takes an objective, legal look at the issue.
IF they do take this look, they should also see that equal testing should occur for people who work with CHILDREN. This includes foreigners and Koreans alike.
Many F-series people, Koreans and E-2 holders don't work with children. None of them should be tested. |

I doubt Immigration would make the distiction between children and adults when deciding the appropriate visa. Many children hogwons also have classes for adults too. That would be a nightmare to try and manage. "Oh, you can't teach that class, you don't have a CRC, but you can teach the night class with adults" Not gonna happen!
Instead they will blindly apply the policy to all foreigners involved with teaching. Fair is fair, right

Does anyone see an analogy here between this ATEK situation and the PS GETs' situation who are forced to 'desk warm'/do camps during vacation?

E2s have always had the sh*t end of the stick (well, since 1984 anyway). and F-visa holders whining about E2s standing up for themselves as a group should be nothing to worry about.
F-visa holders who are prematurely getting their panties in a bunch, probably have things to hide.
F-visa holders who are gathering to counter-complain against ATEK are being petty and overprotective of what they "think" sets them apart from the E2s.
most of them are also forgetting that they too, were (probably) once E2s and seem to have a rather typical senior thumping on junior because the senior was once thumped one himself attitude about all of this.
i, for one, would like to see how ATEKs efforts play out before running around declaring that the sky is falling.
and if, say some arm of the Korean government decides to actually put all the F-visas who are in teaching positions through the same crap, it will be right and just. and if for some reason being held to the same standard because you work in a school bothers you, then perhaps its time to change professions (for your family). |

Then test them if they are going to work with children at all. It doesn't matter if they teach adults, too. Work with children, regardless of ethnicity or origin = testing.
Once again, I for one don't think the testing accomplishes anything. CBC, ok. AIDS and drugs in the system, especially drugs from another country? Not a threat to children anymore than alcohol is a threat. |

At least those teaching on E2 visas can prove they have legit diplomas and no criminal backgrounds. if someone can't prove a clean criminal background, should they be legally teaching?
Oh, and the REAL problem is that Korean Immigration won't go after those teaching illegally on tourist visas. |

Oh, I think with all the attention that the E visa holders are bringing on themselves you could very well see a crack down in the near future on all illegal activities.
Time to give up that income from the privates for a while eh? |

Yes, it is common knowledge that Immigration has difficulty managing to tie its own shoes but that doesn't allow them to make rules/regulations discriminating against any group of people. Your theory to go against something simply because of what you predict will happen and/or what Immigration is or is not able to do is simply illogical.

Immigration and the government can make any dam policy they want. This happens to be Korea where fair is not always fair. Remember you are a guest here. This is NOT your country. If you don't like the rules, go home. |
