Does having an STD like herpes preclude you from working in South Korea? Is it true that the medical check includes an STD check? Will you get deported?

They check blood and urine, it's not a full physical. Nothing to worry about, your secret is safe with us.

This is a good question. I suppose it really depends on the
hospital your school sends you to, and the person doing the
test. My guess is that most places will check you for AIDS and
maybe other STDS like Gonnerhia(sp) and Syphillus and
Chlamydia. I doubt they would do the blood test for herpes.
In the west that test is laded with so many false positives the
only ones actually recommending it are the pharmaceutical
companies making the anti viral drugs. In other words I
think you are pretty safe.

Yeah, I'm just worried that my visa will be revoked once I get there and the school will hold me responsible for repaying airfare, etc. Thanks for the advice.

I had the same question. Since a high percentage of people in America have genital herpes it would seem that at least some of you here at Dave's have it also. Was anyone ever checked for it ? Did anyone ever get sent out of the country for it? I do find it hard to believe they would even care about it, but needing transcripts that are within 3 months is strange also to me, since they are sealed. By the way, getting tested for ghonnorea is no fun at all, is it?

Never been tested but I heard something about a q-tip getting shoved up a private part. Doesn't sound too comfortable.
