Has anyone actually worked here?
Apparently the previous teacher came from Australia in Aug and left in October leaving things behind. Then he calls and says he is not returning to Korea due to a family emergency..dad had a stroke before the teacher left Korea apparently.

The school did not do anything with the apartment since October and the new CT has been doing all the classes with 600 students. Today the school thought I would sign a contract and work Monday because they need someone ASAP. They wanted to know where my bags were, did not want to pay for a visa run and were surprised that I did not bring them the 2 hrs away by subway and bus.

Anyone work at this school?

This public school has a Letter of Agreement that must be signed as well as the contract.

no sitting at your desk during class

no private internet use until after 4 pm

native teacher teaches classes whenever co-teachers are on business trips or are otherwise engaged

Native teacher must overwork when supervisors ask...OT in addition to special classes..

I cannot remember them all..but there were two pages of rules
I thought public schools only had a contract to be signed.

To keep it short. Do not sign that letter of agreement and look for another job.

Save yourself the trouble of complaining later on here and just pass. That is a disaster waiting to happen.

This school is engaged in some questionable operations.

I wouldn't work there, but could you tell me which part of Anyang that school is in? I know some ppl in Anyang with kids, I should warn them against such a place.

Why don't you post the full story for us to see. Saves me Pm'ing you for idle gossip and also will put the information out there for a future teacher to search for.
