Hmm... I'll add another.
Pompous Dave's posters who shit on their peers. It should not feel good to condescend and berate others who have questions and/or problems. Case in point, just read any one reply posted by Chicken Lover and others of his ilk. |

Yeah, there are better complaints but that is the FIRST that comes to mind. I guess I'm pretty satisfied with Korea overall. |

There are very few things that bug me about korea. Im struggling to think of something worth writing in here.
The bad quality of some of the sidewalks pisses me off sometimes. |

| The lameass interviews for the E2 visa. 3 questions and a lot of wasted time especially for those who dont live near a Korean consulate or embassy. |

I'm not too fond of people who harsh on Dave's posters with useful information like Chicken Lover. |

What bugs me most is being asked the exact same set of questions by every Korean when I eat with them for the first time. You ALL know the questions I'm talking about:
1. Can you use chopsticks?
2. Isn't that too spicy for you?
3. Have you heard of 김치/떡/갈비 etc? (Because I'm eating a meal with them they'll already know that I've lived here for 2 years. COME ON! GROW A BRAIN ALREADY! Have you heard of pizza? What about hamburger? Really? You have? Amazing.)
Not by any means the worst thing about living here (the good things far outweigh the bad, which is why I love this place), but this thread is "what bugs you the most".
I can easily brush off all the daily annoyances but this standard set of questions just really sets my teeth on edge. |
A big ME, TOO on this one. It gets quite annoying. And it's not just people who see me eat "spicy" food for the first time either. It's people who have seen me eat something many times, and they ask me every darn time "Isn't it too hot"? No, it isn't. I have news for Koreans. Their food is NOT hot or that spicy. Red pepper powder and paste are a joke! I can drink habanero pepper sauce from the bottle. I grew up eating raw onions as a kid and jalapeno peppers, too. As a foreigner who can eat this stuff, you just don't fit their idea of what a foreigner is supposed to be. No matter how many times they see you eating these things, they will never believe you. It's like saying you wear size extra small/small. They will never believe you. You are supposed to be big and fat, and that is what they think. |

Whiny ex-pats who despise Korea and Koreans but don't have the courage to leave and make a go of it in their own countries. They like to accuse everyone who actually likes being here of being an 'apologist' or having Stockholm syndrome.
Also litter and smoking in PC 방s and restaurants. |
