Yep, the day of anticipation/dread is coming up next weekend and I'd love to get/share ideas on what to do on Valentine's Day.

As some of you may know, Korea splits this joyful/painful 'Day of Love' into two, one on 14 Feb and the other on 14 Mar. It's a girl-give-guy day on the actual Valentine's Day and a guy-give-girl day on 14 Mar, or "White Day."

So, girls or guys, where are you taking your sweethearts and/or what are you getting them? Or are you going to avoid the day altogether because you either don't have boyfriends/girlfriends/whatevers or think the day is too 'commercial' for your likings?

Dinner and a movie. Wink

One bit of ADVICE- Don't go "out" on Valentines Day with a member of the opposite sex UNLESS you are dating. Some women will insist that they can "be friends" with a man and just go out on Feb. 14 if both are single. DON'T fall for that trap.

If a woman wants to go out with you on Valentines Day, she wants something. Wink

so guys don't have to actually do/plan anything? Is it actually okay to show up empty handed? I'm not planning on doing that, but just checking.

Seconded...
I already have an emergency gift but it's expensive so I don't want to whip it out if I don't have to... rather save it for white day.

I think you have it backwards. Valentines day is "guy-give-girl" and White day is "girl-give-guy". Atleeast that's how it worked with my GF last year.

What I'm doing for Valentines? I'm flying back home on the 14th, so nothing special...might do something on Friday though ~

So, is how I think it works:

Feb 14: Valentine's Day: Girl gives guy
March 14: White Day: Guy gives girl
April 14: Black Day: Single people eat Jajangmyun
May 14: Rose Day: not sure what's supposed to happen on this day.

Does this carry on into the summer?
