-I've had enough of a friends hogwon horror story.
-Guy works 6 days a week, and has forced office hours in addition to classes. No paid overtime. He has no pay stubs, nor health insurance. He doesn't want to work on getting either because he might be fired for rocking the boat.
-Now I've told him several times to call the labor board, but he's convinced it won't help him. In addition he can't open a new bank account as he doesn't have pay stubs which speed up the whole wire money process.
-He's totally convinced that he has to put up with this *%^& for the next 6 months, as everyone in Korea is out to get him. This is for a guy with an MA at a hogwon. His salary is 2.5 which is hardly that good anyway, for an MA.
-So how can I convince this guy to address he is uninsured in a foreign country and getting ripped off on pension? |

If the guy has a MA and still needs you to babysit him ...I don't know.
I think he needs to figure this out on his own. |

I was never asked for pay stubs to open a bank account or wire money. Sounds like a dolt. Let him rot. |

Nothing personal to you, but he sounds like an idiot.
He has done NO research at all, and is stupid for getting ripped off on his salary
Granted people get ripped off, but 2.5 with a masters? That's not exactly competive pay. Why didn't he research what competive pay now is with his credentials? Why didn't he find a reputable hagwon to work at?
Afraid of getting fired for rocking the boat? The squeaky wheel gets the oil. he thinks if he pansies out long enough it'll sort itself out?
I can't imagine what kind of teacher he must be for having less hair on his balls than a glass marble.
Dudes in a skillet, buring at the soles of his feet and he doesn't want to contact the labor board... because "it won't help him". SO apparenly no action is better than action that might not help?
Justifiying not taking action because he's of afraind they won't take action? Jesus christ ... |

this just further proves that some people should never leave their home countries (no offense intended to the OP). there's not much you can do for him if he refuses to try to solve his own problems |

You need to ditch more than just the horror story. |
