Flying into Koh Samui early Sunday morning.
Girlfriend and I are thinking a night or two there to check out the scene there and then head to Koh Tao of Koh Phangnag...but can't decide. |

What are you planning to do there? Without any doubt in my mind, I clearly prefer Koh Phangan. I can't even remember how many times I have been there. The island is much larger than Koh Tao. There are more beaches to choose from. Renting a motorbike gives you the ability to explore the island which has something for everyone. Be aware that some of the roads are not for the weary. This is also true on Koh Tao. The beaches and sheer variety of things to do is superior on Koh Phangan. |

Be careful on the scooter. We've all read what happened to the Kiwi in Vietnam. Koh Tao is more for diving than partying. |

Koh tao for nice diving and Koh pagnon for partying but there is some nice semi-private beaches there if you hike or take boats. |

Just limit your time in Samui, the place is a dump and a total rip off. Tao and Phangnan are both better. |
