Hey.. I am getting married soon and am wondering what are the requirements to start my own business teaching english. My fiancee is Korean, so she could easily get the business in her name.

Do you know how this could be done and the requirements of it?

I am looking to start teaching out of my house and then eventually getting a business front.

Putting it under your wife's name is the easiest way to get a business going, but when that goes sour ..... you will lose the business.

What exactly do you mean by a tutoring business anyway, what are the particulars of your idea?

The only problem if you put in under your name is that you need 50.000.000 won in a bank account.

If you teach from your house, you need to register with the Dep of Education in your Area and register as such.
They will tell you the max. you can ask per student (use the http://www.google.com/coop/cse?cx=006359271486458796786%3Azldpir6y9yy to find that this topic has been discussed before).
They do not tell you how many students per class though.

Plus you can ask extra for "Books and Materials" and other related stuff.

The hardest part will be advertising and getting the students. Don't think about starting a business until you can generate revenue by yourself between 6.000.0000 and 8.000.000 (not that easy), you can easily get to 4.000.000 but going over that will be hard AND you have 2ok lying around (you could do with less).

the biggest stinker with starting an actual school is the real estate. renting puts you into a difficult spot (they can cancel it immediately) and buying will put you another 6ok in need. Also look into ALL the requirements when you start a school. I lost an additional 20.000.000 won because my interior designer forgot some stuff .....

Anyways let this not dissuade you from doing something with your life .
