Im planning to visit Nandaemun, but im not aware of how to deal or where exactly to go there.

Ill be very glad if i can receive any advices

Thanks

many of the stores there have tons of used lenses. you should have an idea of what a lens is worth before going so you know if youre getting an ok deal or not. english levels vary although in my experience they all know the difference between used and new. from what i've heard different people have had different levels of success at different stores, so check a bunch out. some places have refurbished lenses although they will probably be more expensive than "used" ones in the same condition... good luck!

I PM'ed you about my lens and helping you with Namdaemun.
I think the best store in Namdaemun is Camera2u. Mr. Oh works there and he speaks excellent English. The only thing I dislike about this store is that its so popular that it can sometimes be difficult to get service.

There isn't much bargaining done in the above ground stores in Namdaemun. You can actually get better bargains in the basement market sometimes. That said the price there is pretty firm. I saw someone spend 30 minutes trying to haggle and only get the price dropped 10,000 on an item that was well over 1mil won.

I buy all my camera stuff in Namdeamoon

BUT be careful and find a shop that you can trust.

One shop gave me the new model's price on a used camera..things like that.

Do you homework

Yeah, you do have to be careful at Namdeamun.

I recommend NOT going to YesDica. As the guy who works there has lied to me, and not accepted direct returns on faulty equipment that he sold as 'like new'. I also bought a flash from him that I wanted to exchange for another model, and he would not let me event though it was only about a week old. I had the warranty, and everything was new, I did not use the flash other than to try it. I've never heard of a camera store not accepting exchanges on recentally bought brand new equipment that had not yet been used other than to test it.

Know what you are willing to pay before you even start to look. And don't let them change your mind at the last minute, that's how you end up paying more.
