I just applied for one of these. Took 5 minutes and I was approved in about 12 hours and got my loan payments pushed back 15 months. Easy as pie.

Do you need to show proof of financial duress?

Like recpeits or crap like that?

I selected "Other" and in the explanation box I wrote:

I am teaching English in South Korea and the current exchange rate makes it difficult to make payments.

Blow out the candles and enjoy your freedom without the governements plan to make you a working slave hanging over your head.

Best not be planning to return then.

Were you able to do it online? When I called, they said I had to send in a form.

Don't forget, you can defer your payments on your loans, but you may continue to accrue interest during the period of your deferment, which will only increase your debt. Something to keep in mind.

That is the difference between a deferment and forbearance. Very Happy

People that don't pay back student loans, or any other loan for that matter, are scum.

Pay them back. I hope that make it alot harder for retards like this to get any type of loan in the future.

You've gone a bit too far by calling people who don't or CAN'T pay back loans, scum.

Everyone has a story and some people face real hardships in their lives which causes financial stress and burdens.

It's in everyones best interest to pay back any type of loan, but calling them scum is simply stupid.

Rapists, murderers, pedophiles, terrorists etc are scum.Loan defaulters are not.
