I'll be teaching in Busan in a few weeks and might be looking to buy a tv.
How much would a tv between 27-32" hd tv cost?
Where is a good place to look for one? |

| HD TVs?? Mwahaha.. There are no HD TVs in Korea! Expect to find only analog TVs that predate remote controls, and they're quite expensive. But you can buy them at 7-11. |

| Gmarket. Look at the TDS tv's. The quality is great and they are a lot less expensive than the name brands. They use LG panels and when I bought mine they had a decent warranty. Screw buying a Pavv or an Xcanvas. They're ripoffs IMO. |

I literally picked up a 32" LG HD off the sidewalk yesterday. |

Nothing. I walked up, saw the TV, went back to my apartment, got my cart, loaded it up, and carted it back here. It's nice.
Koreans don't like old things. The average Korean gets a new cellphone more than once a year. The markets for used electronics just don't exist. Auction.co.kr can help you with some stuff, but used things just aren't to be had for sale. You can, however, pick them out of the trash for free. |

Non hds can be had cheap...especially from other expats...your school might provide you with a tv(especially public)....likely not HD...although my awesome co-teacher at my request tried to get one of those 50 inch LCD tvs they have in every class room for me.
LCD HD tvs are expensive here...if you have a nice one back home, you might wanna bring it if you got room.
Even older DLPs were very hard to find and still had high price tags...it's kinda annoying really.... |

Considering the inane drivel that comprises the majority of Korean TV, forking out for an expensive TV isn't worth the effort. The only thing that would make the fuckwits on TV more annoying would be viewing them on larger screen.
However, if you really want to buy a TV here, a 42 inch LCD goes for around 1.4 million in Costco. |

Christ almighty on a bike, go to a used electronics shop and pay 100k for a decent sized tube before you pay 1.4m for a plasma, jesus. |

That's a computer monitor....and some of us like to watch tv on something bigger than 17 inches..if your buying HD, go big. Tv choices here are extremely limited here....I'm a bit of a videophile so quality is important...I won't simply buy any LCD. |

No need for HD if your screen is under 36 inches.
You can buy a brand new 29" for around 300,000 won. |
