Is this illegal here in Korea? This is not the first time that this has happened to me, and frankly I'm tired of recruiter doing this to me! Is there a place where I can report this kind of situation where my resume is being shared to a third party without my consent.. ?? Any info will help. Thanks

i dont know about the legality, but you could contact both recruiters and inform them that you will not accept any jobs from them for that reason.

they lose your business and the fat check you bring to them.[/quote]

Are they doing anything malicious? I understand legally you might have grounds, but in the end does it matter if another recruiter gets you your job or the one you talked to?

Maybe the recruiter you didn't talk to couldn't get a school in the area or with the terms you wanted. So they traded, like sports players.

get this. my former hagwon boss forwards me an email, and within that email are a ton of pictures and people's info. my picture and my info is one of the 10 or so. turns out the recruiters take your pic, resize it, type out your basic info next to your pic, and email it out to their whole hagwon boss client/prospect list.

i'm assuming lots of recruiters "recruit" this way. make sure to send a good picture of yourself Laughing

Well I got replies back from both recruiters and their answers are.. Recruiter "A" oh you email last year and was wondering if your still interested.. ugh wrong.. I have gmail and I checked to see if I emailed them and just like I thought..NO
Recruiter "B" I didn't do anything with your resume or picuture. Good answer but, can't believe this one either, cause I only sent out my resume for a specific position to this recruiter.. (which recruiter A was offering to me which raised my suspicion about them in the first place)

It just bothers me a LOT cause I'm very selective in who I sent out my resume to!!! And I just get annoyed when I hear from ppl I've never heard of.. and when I ask ab how they got my info they give me crappy answers like they are trying to help me out with their garbage job offers..

So recruiters.. I know ya'll are reading this.. PLEASE show some basic manner no matter how desperate you are! Cause your digging your own grave.

They are just networking. Its a network/sales kinda job.

Sure, it sucks to get e-mail or even text messages from strangers asking if you can work at XYZ that is 100 miles away from you. However, once in a while, you get a gold nugget from some deserate recruiter who can get you a one on one private three blocks from your apartment for 65K/hour.

You should sue the pants off them for trying to get you a job! [/sarcasm]

I have stated before that some recruiters often post jobs that DO NOT exist, just to collect people's resume to produce to prospective future clients. Furthermore, your resume and personal information is often posted on their site, indicating you are an EMPLOYEE of their agency. To make matters worse, some recruiters will do group e-mails to all "prospective instructors" so that EVERYONE has access to your e-mail address (whether you want them to or not).

Due to this, I often have to GOOGLE myself, and frequently find Korean agencies posting my resume, contact information, picture with INCORRECT information. I immediately contact the agency and politely demand that they remove my personal information from their website since I was never an employee. Unfortunately, even if the link is broken to that webpage by the recruiter, it still remains on the search engine for results under my name. I have yet to find a way to have that link removed as well. Any ideas tech people?

If they are in Korea, file a lawsuit for unlawful use of your likeness.

If they are in the USA or Canada, FILE A LAWSUIT. YOU WILL WIN- BIGTIME.

Aren't privates illegal on an E-2 visa?

Recruiters should ask our permission before exchanging our information with other recruiters.
