Sorry, I tried searching for an answer but the search on here is pretty much a crapshoot for broad questions like mine:

- I just got my visa # (E-2, Public School) from recruiter and have to schedule appointment with Korean Consulate (Atlanta). Since I have this visa #, do I need to bring anything else, other than passport? I e-mailed my recruiter, but not sure when I'll hear back with an answer. Also, do you have any recommendations as to what to prepare for the consulate? I'll be driving from Tampa (8 HOURS!) and don't feel like driving for 16 total hours and screwing up anything!!

Thanks for your help/opinion in advance.

you need your passport, a copy of your contract, a copy of your transcript, and a SASE so they can mail it back to you. I can't remember if you also need a copy of your diploma, but it wouldn't hurt to take it anyway if you have one.

Wow 8 hours?!?! That's horrible! My drive was only 30 min. It would only make sense to have some other process for people like you who live further away.

I was at the Consulate in Los Angeles last week and all I needed was my passport, the consulate checklist, the visa form (with picture attached), and $45, but mine was for a private school...I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

The best thing to do is to call the Consulate in Atlanta and ask what you need to bring.

Thanks asams. Very Happy

....and fighton.

Yeah, the consulate is closed 'til Tuesday! Perfect timing. I'll definitely call them Tuesday to schedule appt and get more info. I'm gonna' ask about the webcam interviews. I've heard they're possible, but not sure if they'll do it.

Thanks again.

You might be able to get the visa by mail - email the consulate and ask about it since you have such a loooong drive. You might just have to overnight the information. It might cost you less to do this too. It won't hurt to ask about it. If they say no then you can make the drive.

I was under the impression all E-2 visas for PS positions were obtained with a 'Letter of Appointment', not a visa number.

Something sounds 'wacky' about this... does anybody 'out there' know for sure?

Hmm, well, I hope you're wrong. This is a PS after school position....not sure if that matters.
