OK..........I'm a Stars fan.......always have been, always will be.
BUT.......I am objective about their play.
BIG mistakes.
1. Letting go of.
A. Jason Arnoot
B. Bill Guerin
C. Jamie Langen.....(can't spell it, but he plays for the Devils)
D. Letting Darian Hatcher leav.
But.................right now..................the Stars are pissed.
They play their best hockey when they are mad.
Watch out.
The Stars are a comin.

Friggin turco killed my team today. he should get penalties for blocking players behind the net. They are like 14-3-1 in last 18 games not bad. |

Fair enough, I would agree if I were on the opposite team.
Trouble with being an American in Korea........................no other Americans want to talk "hockey shop".
As I said.............watch out for the Stars.
There're pissed.

i'm also a canucks fan. hopefully the boys are starting to get there game on. it looks like we've got a pretty solid team, with a lethal secondline. but lou has got to get it together -though it was labarbera in net today. considering the'nucks played their fourth game in 6 nights, i was pretty happy with the effort.
sorry to hijack the thread, but most of my freinds in korea are not hockey fans, so anytime i can talk about the nucks i can't help myself.
the stars are a good team, and they surely are on a roll; modano is simply the most beautiful skater of his generation. i think letting langenbrunner - quite a mouthfull there - go was a huge mistake. he and morrow would be an awesome pairing.
the weird thing about the nhl these days is how competitive it has become. i think - in the west - there are two dominant teams, and a whole bunch of others which are seperated by a very fine line. so i think for a team like dallas, or calgary, they may do well in the regular season, and then get smoked by another come playoff time. seriously, how could anyone pick the stanley cup winner right now. |

Good point.
I did not think how Morrow and Langen......blah blah, would make a good pair.
Modano.......................great, all around player. I love him. He started out as a soft guy but has developed into the complete package.
I have always liked Van, though. They have been on the edge for many years, close to having the complete package.
But...........I love my Stars. I think Dave Tippet is a hell of a coach.
As said...............the Stars are pissed...........
....watch out.

The stupid shootout points make the points race look closer than it should be.
Canucks get a lot of ties but lose in the shootout so it gets recorded as a loss.
Take away the shootouts and the canucks would be 5-9 point clear of those teams. |

'Nucks fan here too...Turco is one of the few goalies that can I truly worry about playing--he has the potential to steal one every game. Case in point was tonight's game--Nucks had numerous chances to tie or take the lead...
Truth be told, Dallas is one of the teams that I hope we never have to play when the playoffs roll around...doesn't matter what seed they (Stars) are...
But, all "homer" bias aside...IF the 'Nucks make the playoffs (and they will) it will be the result of a season-ending hot streak, and I think we are a team that nobody will want to face (assuming we get an extra piece or two at the trading deadline)...

Great.............now my Stars are getting romped by the Blackhawks (which, is a young and dangerous team. I'd be happy to see the Blackhawks back in the mix of things in the Weastern Conference).

Dude the Stars are one of hockeys hottest sides since Avery went nuts.
Turco is back to normal and they are dangerous. I bet on hockey and basically I'm picking Dallas the rest of theyear. Yeh Chicago stomped them but nobody wins all the time.
another good wager? Tahe the Sens to get hot---ya heard it here first. |

Avery wasn't the cause of all their early problems but it isn't a coincidence that they have become a playoff team since his departure. |

Stars don't have a chance this year. No way they're even going to make it out of the West. Not only is Turco streaky, but they don't have the firepower or leadership with Morrow gone.
Wings and Sharks are the two teams that are obviously lightyears ahead of them but even upstarts like the Blackhawks and Canucks have a better chance than the Stars IMO. |
