I've been emailing schools and I sent my resume to different recruiters, but I haven't had any responses from the schools I want. I don't get it. What am I doing wrong?

More details please.

Are you in any way "non-standard"? i.e not a 20-something white North American.

Are the schools you're applying to particularly peachy? i.e 4 million a month for 5 classes a week, with a 4 bedroom penthouse apartment in Gangnam thrown in.

Do you have a history of being fired from other schools?

It sounds strange to me that you're not getting 5 job offers from every recruiter you try.

Yeah the big issue so far is your vagueness... Generally speaking if its public schools you want you picked the worst time of year possible as hiring just finished for almost all of them.. I assume university jobs are the same though based on your post I doubt its uni jobs you're after. That leaves Hogwans.. Maybe you're too picky, maybe you're using the wrong recruiters, I'm sure if you give us more info people will have more ideas for you.

You should get many offrers within a day of sending out your resume. Did you send a passport copy , resume, picture.

Make sure your pic looks good. I get a lot more job offers when I use a decent pic which gets more difficult with age.

I've applied to schools in the 2.2 million won range. I'm in my 20s. I graduated with honors. I'm average looking. I've never been fired from a school because I've never worked at one before.

I've never been in trouble with the law. I don't care about the apartment as long as it is a single. I'm American and I went to an American college. My family background is European, Spanish and Apache (I look White).

Similar background to me - except Inca instead of Apache - I remember a previous thread of yours saying would you be more acceptable to the Koreans if you wore blue contact lenses.

'Love thyself' sod these fools in this country who will kiss your ass for the most superficial reason because a persons eyes aren't the same colour as theirs.

I was well effed off when I saw my photo in the graduation book and saw the bastard photographer had whitened my picture with photoshop! I looked a bit stupid but all the teachers were going 'handsome! great photo!'

Secondly - there will be PS jobs available - the more they pay you in this country - the more they want for their pound of flesh - I think they are doing you a favour in the long run.

I am doing some hiring with my school, and I may know your problem.

I get the most unprofessional responses to job ads.

Like this:

'i was wonbdering about the job if it is still opn?'

Bad spelling, no caps, that or the goofball wrote no introduction and CCed his resume to 10 places at the same time.

Any photo of applicant, in a bar, with kids, with friends, on a mountain, on the crapper etc are binned.

A professional photo, shirt tie, head shot, smiling a little, you get moved up the pile.

A photo of you on the beach in Thailand with a Sang Som bucket in the shot gets you put in the shredder.

I try to keep my emails professional, and I sent a cover letter with my resumes as an attached file. I even changed the cover letter for each school. I was really hoping I'd get a call, or at least an email, today.
