Dear Mods,
Could we please have an explanation as to why this thread was deleted.
A number of posters have been following this thread as the issue has the potential to affect all teachers in Korea, either negatively or positively.
Many thanks,
Mr Slaps |

They've had plenty of time to explain themselves but haven't yet.
Their silence speaks volumes.
They know how bad this looks, but they don't care. There is obviously something funny going on behind the scenes.
I recommend copying and pasting all ATEK threads to your hard drive because it's clear on what side of this issue that the mod's support.
Deleting (not locking...DELETING) 15 pages of the ATEK sticky speaks much louder than whatever excuse they give.
I sincerely hope that it is only one mod who has "gone rogue" and that his actions are not supported by Dave and the rest of the mod team, as I have used this board for 4 years and this is first time I've witnessed such a flagrant disregard for it's users. |

| Having one mod sticky the thread, then another mod delete it... well doesn't that scream mod-team conflicts? |

Interesting. |

| More than likely the mods have moved the thread to the mod forum. Or someone deleted it, no explanation forthcoming. SOP here on Daves, members have complained for years about this, why should it suddenly change? |

my money is on 2 things:
1) his advertisers (hogwons) griped and maybe threatened to sue him
and
2) this thread will be gone by morning if not earlier |

The Hagwon owners are not griping about this. Believe me they are ATEK's biggest fans right now.
They really see an opportunity here to get what they want. An exclusive Hagwon only visa and they are going to be lobbying hard in concert with this complaint to get it. ATEK really screwed the pooch on this one. |

I must be getting really slow in my old age down here on the island and away from the cities on the mainland...but how in the hell has ATEK screwed this up so the hagwon owners are happy? I don't see that one at all. |

Two visa's .
1. Public School: all the tests. Visa pretty much what it is now
2. Hagwons: Tests are part of previsa requirements.
Switching between visa's made very difficult, which results in Hagwon owners happier because teachers can't easily leave for public sector. |

Bingo! Give that man a cigar!
The Hagwon owners are passing 'em out by the way. They really can't believe that this is falling in their lap. They only hope it goes through. ATEK! Sparkling! |
