I'm looking to buy a pet bird...anyone know of the larger pet markets/stores in Seoul where I'd have a big selection and better prices?

Along the North side of Cheonggyechon (river) in Seoul, just Northeast of Dongdaemun Stadium has 3 or 4 of these bird shops.

We'll be purchasing a budgie next week for starters.

Friends of mine had a budgie and they hated it...squawking through the night and not very friendly.

I'm going one size up...something like a small cockateel. One's I've seen are full of character and not so noisy!

There's a bird shop by Sangdo Station (line 7) it sells macaws and fancy birds. Then there's always Chungmuro...but I hate that place. From time to time you can find birds and others animals on www.animalrescuekorea.org

By the way, birds live for a long time and it's very difficult to take them back to your home country so think about your decision carefully please!
