`The program often delivers provocative and exaggerated information, but it's acceptable with regard to the people's right to know, meaning the program's producers are not responsible for the protests,'' Judge Yang Hyun-joo said, adding that there was no evidence proving the program could have anticipated the months-long protests triggered in its aftermath.

Meanwhile the Indians that got rammed by Koreans sit in Korean jail.

Is it me, or are these absurd happenings occurring more frequently? I swear only one or two idiotic rulings came out by the courts here each month, now it seems like a daily occurrance that these corrupt judges rule against common sense.

Is it any wonder Koreans don't trust the rule of law or the judiciary? Hell, I don't blame them.

hmm...misinformation leading to unintending....or unforseen circumstances...which had a negative effect on those who beleived in that information and took action on it.

Good of you to make this post NoExplode...as some posters here at Dave's seem to be missing this very point in the ATEK issue.

What the hell are you talking about, dude? If I wanted to talk about that group, I'd post over there. Now fasten your diaper and go back to that thread.

I hear you...those pesky wolverines...if they aren't chained to a desk eating crayons, they're off starring in Hollywood movies.

While I'll give the paper credit for the 'often delivers provocative and exaggerated info', there's no mention of anything about the major part of the case where a translator or translators clearly informed the producers that what they were wanting to say on the air was clearly not true and obviously twisted to say what they wanted to. I wish they'd at least update it, but all they put is:

Quote:
After translation errors were found by the prosecution, MBC apologized for the mistakes last August.

Is this freakin all? I thought EMB was suing.

With regard to the forseeable negligence, I hope they related the effect of the Hwang Woo Suk case. This obviously added to their credibility (or gave them some for those who say they didn't have any) so it could be foreseen that their intentional misconstruing of info would have the intended effect. While it may be difficult to prove the amount of forseeable negligence, certaintly they could have been held partially responsible. Anyone heard of what the foreign lawyers here have said?
