Every time I go to "Sign Up" on Woori's website Internet Explorer crashes. I also tried using Netscape but I can't even get that far.

How do you set up internet banking when the website keeps crashing your browser? Any ideas?

You don't just sign-up for it like you would a message board or something. You have to go to your bank and request it.

Yeah, you need to sign up for it at the branch. They'll give you the access information. Then you'll have to install some security program (from the site itself) and I believe you need a pretty updated IE. I use Woori bank and access it online. It installed fine on two separate computers, but I remember it was a bit of a hassle in the beginning, although it's pretty simplistic now.

I did sign up for it at the bank. They gave me a user ID but I have to choose my own password. Thing is, every time I get to the page where I have to make a new password, the browser crashes. But thanks, Jeff for giving me the benefit of the doubt.

Go to Woorie bank and ask them to guid you with putting in the password. There are a couple cool security concerns that you need to be familiar with. It worked well for us in Vancouver. Though, it can be a bit of a rough start. Good luck to you!

They have tech support, you are probably missing some applets.

They have an Interpreter who explains the problem to the technical people, they might take control of your computer do some stuff and make it work.

That is it.

I got my ID/Password at the bank. Make sure you get the card that has the random numbers on the back. That's for transferring money online. Have the latest updated IE and you may want to disable your AV programs as they can potentially conflict with the ones that Woori will prompt you to install.

Woori crashes my Windows XP once in a while even with everything installed properly...but i dunno i think it's because i'm running it through Windows XP via Parallels on my Mac. Razz

Here is how I finally got it to work.

Uninstall Windows XP SP3, install XP SP2 and did not install google toolbar, since IE 8 said google toolbar could cause IE to crash. Now it works fine!

Is it true that transferring money home is cheaper with Woori internet banking? What are people's overall experiences with it so far? Good? Bad?

Is it really cheaper to do it online through home?

Is anyone a member of the like Woori Specialty remittance club? How does that work, is it worth it?

It's cheaper at least compared to Woori physical banking: IIRC, the wiring fee is halved. (Then again, I might be missing discount opportunities that seem to be offered at some Woori bank branches.)
