"Obama is a radical Communist and I think its becoming clear--thats what I told people in Illinois and now everybody realizes its true. Hes going to destroy this country. Were either going to stop him or the United States of America is going to cease to exist

Is he president of the United States? According to the Constitution, in order to be eligible to be president you have to be a natural born citizen. He has refused to provide proof that he is in fact a natural born citizen, and his Kenyan relations say that he was born in Nairobi at a time when his mother was too young to transmit US citizenship. So Im not sure hes even president of the United States. Now thats not a laughing matter. Neither are many of our military people are going to court to answer the question, Do we have to obey a man who is not qualified under the Constitution? Were in the midst of the greatest crisis this nation has ever seen. And if we dont stop laughing about it and deal with it, were going to find ourselves in the midst of chaos, confusion and civil war. Its time we started acting like grown-ups.

The person you call President Obama, and I frankly refuse to call him that, at the moment he is somebody who is a kind of an alleged usurper who is alleged to be someone who is occupying that office without Constitutional warrant to do so."

transcribed from Alan Keyes yesterday in Nebraska: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036677#29308546

This man might be starting to become dangerous. It's one thing to say outrageous things when times are good, but things aren't good and Keyes is skirting closer to incitement.

I never understood the whole Obama commie accusations, especially during the electoral season when he was accused by McCain and Palin of planning wealth redistribution (strange.. as Palin every year redistributes the wealth from oil companies to alaskans in the form of 2-3k checks) or as he is now with the stimulus.. No one calls FDR a commie for his new deal, which essentially the Obama stimulus is new deal #2 basiclly..
makes no sense.

It's said by some guy on the interweb that means it's hard fact. Oh... also the Holocaust never happened, gnomes take our socks from the dryer, smoking DOES NOT contribute to cancer, and 9/11 was a government conspiracy.

I love when people say things like this. I somehow doubt that he has this grand scheme to turn the United States of America into a new Soviet Union. He'd be removed from office faster than you can say Stalin. As soon as some people hear "social reform" or anything with the smell of a SOCIALIZED program they cry commie faster than Hitler could scream Jew.

As for Do we have to obey a man who is not qualified under the Constitution? (which I assume you're alluding to the questions that arose about his nationality... which would be perhaps racist since I'm sure even if he wasn't born in the US, having been raised there would probably see him wanting what's best for America... that amendment was probably written so nobody who would have the intention of returning the colonies to England's rule could do so.) now that Obama is in office it's a little late to be calling his nationality into question. Besides that's been checked and rechecked, it was a tense time for supporters worldwide, but it turned out that he's as American as... wait hotdogs aren't actually American... baseball.(?)

Maybe America as we know it needs to stop existing. By this I mean there should be more consideration for the needs of the many. That's not communism it's common sense.

I think 9/11 was a government conspiracy. I don't know who exactly, or why, but it doesn't add up.

Not really on topic.

It would be hard to claim this is a racist comment, having been made by Alan Keyes.

Obama should have defused this whole issue long ago. All he has to do is make his birth certificate available for review by the media. There are millions of people who agree with Keyes on this issue, and it could lead to violence of some kind if Obama doesn't finally present his birth certificate.

The US had one President before who was not qualified for the same reason. He was not a natural born American, and it was keep secret until long after he was President.

This issue is so big, that many state legislatures are considering legislation, right now, to require all candidates for Pres and VP, and in some states, all candidates for public office, to provide a birth certificate or proof of naturalization for other offices, before the candidate's name can appear on the ballot.

Had these laws been in place a year ago, would Obama have been able to comply?

***** edit ****

So, the video finally worked and it shows that Obama has presented proof of his citizenship by posting his birth certificate on some website.

Now, Keyes and all the people who have filed lawsuits over this issue should stop.

Still, the legislatures of many states are considering bills on this issue.

******

And, I read recently that President Chester Arthur was not a natural born citizen of the US. This is not in dispute, but it is a dead issue.

Talk about grasping for straws......If the guy was actually born in kenya, the truth would have came out along time ago....It's not like obama's poor mother had records fudged at birth....

I supposed it could have been destroyed...sorta like george bush's military records....which were conviently lost or destroyed.

So what if Obama was born in Africa?

Bush didn't win Florida in 2000.

Tit for tat!

Quit your veiled racist whining.

I went back and edited the OP to hopefully clarify that Alan Keyes said that stuff, not me. My comment is at the bottom.

It's unlikely that anyone here would think you said anything that crazy, Yata.

It was reasonable, given all the rumors, to ask about citizenship, and to be fair, the same questions were circulating about McCain. The issue of McCain's citizenship became moot because he lost. Obama HAS posted his birth certificate on line for everyone to see, so the issue is over.

Supporters of Keyes and his wacky ideas should just shut up.

I can also add an "n" to that last sentence and write it again ...

Supporters of Keynes ...

he probably has a bit of commie in him, like a lot of other people who would never admit it.
reading that is just as funny as reading ann coulter, except that i don't feel myself getting colder and colder.
but democracy is very sneaky, like capitalism; it coopts everything it can't make obsolete.

i have never even heard of alan keyes before today - probably a good thing.
