That's another thing...whale and seal tastes like shit. Why even bother?
And it's not particulary good for you..unless you want to look like an eskimo that is. |
How do you know what it tastes like? Weren't you against the killing of seals? |
Against the consumption of animals that don't taste good perhaps? |
I ate whale in Japan when I first got there not knowing what it was. It tasted like shit. I ate seal in NZ when one got killed by another in a male tussle when I doing a wilderness camp down the south coast. Again, not nice stuff.
That was a few years ago and since then I have stopped eating meat as I have trouble digesting it and disagree with the way beef and lamb in NZ are grown and killed. they have to go through some pretty cruel stuff, such as sometimes having a ring around their 'rings' burnt off to stop dags, but can inevitably lead to a very painful life. I also worked in a meat packing factory which put me off considerably. So, Joshuashitle, NO meat tastes good to me any more. |

Well to be fair there aren't too many Inuit ESL teachers. |
True Dat!! Inuits have the right to make a living... if you really don't like this then get the people who visit the shops to boycott the figurines.. If they didn't sell they wouldn't make them. Supply and demand. The Ivory market was nearly eliminated by consumer awareness.
Don't even get me started on the tragedies that are caused by the direct actions of civilized nations. |

That's okay. They didn't teach spelling at my university either. The sort of figured it was something I knew how to do. It was a clever attempt though... Next time I recommend rhyming my last name with turtle or something. |

1. Meat is good for man. So are vegetables and every other nutritious food. Eat much of all of it.
2. Meat is tasty. Meat smells good. Fur is warm. Fur looks good. Leather feels good. Leather looks good. Fur and leather are biodegradable, renewable resources.
3. Hunting is a timeless tradition of man. Only the degenerate moderns have started to shun hunting and killing. Hunting is a sport enjoyed by all classes of society and all cultures in the world.
4. Seals eat too much fish unless checked. That fish is supposed to be for our bellies.
5. Man has dominion over all the earth. If an effeminate fool wants to surrender his dominion, there are millions of other men willing to take up the mantle. |

Whatever, dances with wolves. Closest you or anyone on this board gets to man's timeless traditions and dominion over nature is watching lions hunt gazelles on the discovery channel. Unless they go hunting with their propane stoves and coolers full of beer a few times durring hunting season, of course. We aren't hunter gatherers, we're capitalists- analyse the seal hunt and the information you hear about it as if you are being informed by people with a capitalist agenda. |

Just FYI... my family hunts every year. Anyone who's legal applies for a doe-tag and we all go out and try to get a deer. Now... since we live in a rural area it's nice to have a freezer full of venison when the snow flies and leaves you sitting under 3 feet of snow until the plow comes through.
Yes, I'm aware that this is a thread about seal hunting but I felt I should share. |

I think if you read my comment a little more closely you'll see I covered that. You might also note i misspelled "during". Venison is not your staple, neither are berries and tubers your mother collects while breastfeeding your five year old brothers and sisters. Do not feed me your lies, you shop at sobeys like everyone else. Unless you are unpatriotic swine and shop at superstore (even though they have a much better connection with local organic producers than sobeys). |
