I was mistaken to think Alan Keyes calling Obama a radical communist was something he was doing for media attention. Glen Beck had a program 'war gaming' various scenarios of civil war based on the government betraying 'the people'.

The video links to Beck's program are in the middle of the article. (Some may not like the article itself...if so, skip down to the video links.)

"With Obama now actually in the Oval Office -- and a financial crisis in full force that is generating the exact type of widespread, intense anxiety that typically inflames these cultural resentments -- their mask is dropping, has dropped, and they've suddenly re-discovered their righteous "principles." The week-long CNBC Revolt of the Traders led by McCain voter Rick Santelli and the fledgling little Tea Party movement promoted by the Michelle Malkins of the world are obvious outgrowths of this 1990s mentality, now fortified by the most powerful fuel: deep economic fear. But as feisty and fire-breathing as those outbursts are, nothing can match -- for pure, illustrative derangement -- the discussion below from Glenn Beck's new Fox show this week, in which he and an array of ex-military and CIA guests ponder (and plot and plan) "war games" for the coming Civil War against Obama-led tyranny. It really has to be seen to be believed."

Sorry, your side's turn to take it now.

Your side called our side's president the Antichrist for eight years, called for his impeachment, imprisonment, or worse, in increasingly hysterical tones. And your side went on and on and on and on about this, on multiple fronts and on multiple channels and venues.

Partisan hacks' hyperbole is a bitch, no?

There is obviously a major categorical difference between legal exercising of free speech and calling/planning for insurrection.

Yes, the power of Alan Keyes' influence makes our very nation tremble at his insurrectionist words.

Oh, how will the Republic endure the charisma of this new Caesar??? Laughing

your kidding right? Bush led this nation into a war under false pretenses, authorized torture as well as an illegal wire tap program, politicized the justice department, and destroyed our economy in the process and when ever anyone tried to ask any questions of Bush rove or cheney in any form , you know how congress is supposed to check the presidents power, they just snubbed congress off as "executive priveledge"

So Bush is perfectly worthy of criticism lobbed at him..

now compare that.. what has Obama done in his first month?

I'm not sure why Keyes and Beck use 'civil war'. From listening to Beck, he sounds like he's talking about armed resistance to law enforcement agents, but who knows for sure?

Anyway, if I were living in the US, I think I'd wear a helmet if I went outside on April 19, just in case any of Timothy McVeigh's friends listen to Glen Beck. But it's probably nothing to be concerned about. Those meetings McVeigh went to were just talk after all. Political rhetoric. Hacks. Nothing ever comes of just talk, even when it's about stopping an illegal government. And armed militias are so 90's.

His extremely low approval ratings and poor international image speak for itself....Even his own party and former supporters try to distance themselves from his legacy.

first of all, perhaps you didn't know - Americans are supposed to be all on the same side Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

secondly, calls for his impeachment were due to his illegal rise to power (not legally voted in but assumed power thru illegal acts of a crooked Supreme Court); his trashing of our beloved Constitution (habeus corpus anyone?), implementation of spying against citizens, stealing the U.S. Treasury, and generally murdering innocent Iraqis under the guise of "democracy" when it was really all about oil.

and let's not even go into the multitude of other laws he broke.

the evildoers are among us, and they call themselves Republicans.

HEY!!

If you guys want to debate the merits of George W. Bush, feel free to start a thread and do so. As is, you have fallen for the cheapest trick in the book--I call it James the Sophomore's 'But Mommy, he did it first' trick. When anyone employs it, they are trying to deflect attention away from their own misbehavior.

Let's try to stay on target--Glenn Beck's recent broadcast about the Right's use of inflammatory speech.

HEY YOURSELF!!

why is it some people count history as starting the moment they wake up out of a coma?

as if what happened in the past (i.e., previous administrations) has no bearing whatsoever?

huh??

let me lay it out for you - progressives/liberals/the left have been demonized and discredited, well, forever. however, with the Bush regime, all this escalated to portray us (yes, I said US) as criminals, traitors, p*ssies, commies, whatever.

this is nothing new, really, it's not.

just ask Dick.

Cheney, that is. Shocked

Well, it's not like we have that much to worry about. What's the fox news demographic? I really don't think a bunch of geriatrics pose much threat to us. Unless they start tossing depends around.

Oh this is going to be fun. Hey Moosehead: the Obama administration is waging and expanding an illegal secret war in Pakistan. He just wants to enlarge America's Middle Eastern Oil Empire and better position American forces for a planned aggression against Iran...R. Nixon in Cambodia all over again...And we all know Nixon got what he deserved...

Quote:
WASHINGTON - A U.S. effort to train Pakistani troops in their fight against al-Qaida and the Taliban is larger than previously acknowledged.

The New York Times reported Monday that a task force of about 70 advisers is helping the Pakistanis with intelligence and advises them on combat tactics. But it isn't taking part in any fighting. The Times report cites U.S. military officials.

Most of the advisers are Army Special Forces soldiers...

Seems like you are saying the US government acts like utter cun*s no matter who is in charge. I have to agree.
