What does this mean? Are you going to sell something cheaper if you get American dollars or are you going to jack up the price 30% in order to get the same amount relative to the current lousy exchange rate? (I suggest we keep the won to dollar ratio closer to 1,000 won per dollar, since this is more in line with the way things were before the won took a nose dive)

Let's treat fellow expats fairly and not take advantage of them because of the current condition of the world economy.

Thanks for the kind thought. I wish I could sell my stuff for the 1000 won exchange rate, but I am going to take whatever rate is current for the day of sale. The won is terrible now, so the deals are even sweeter for the buyers.

That's NOT true. When I came to Korea, I could send money back and get over a dollar with 1,000 won. Now I get 70 cents.

So, this means in order to make up for that 30 cent loss, I have to raise my prices of anything I am selling for in won to get the same dollar amount. Let's look at something you are selling.

Quote:
blender 15,000 Won

This means you would get about $10 (US).

So, either you valued the blender at $10 and did the conversion to 15,000 won, or you think it is worth more using a closer exchange rate. Personally, it doesn't look like a $10 item.

More importantly, I don't know what you used to figure your prices. But stating that you are using the current exchange rate at sale time tells me that you are upping the price. Looking at your photos confirms this.

I wouldn't pay $10 for that blender used. I would pay more like $5. This would be either 5,000 won, using what I feel is a fairer exchange, or raising the price to 7,500 won to make up for the 30% loss in converting won to dollars. You have asked for 15,000 won, twice this amount.

I don't see anything sweet about this deal. If you are hoping to sell a group of items at a lower price but higher individually, I would understand. If you aren't willing to negotiate the prices lower, then I will pass on the blender.

I got offered a larger blender set last year for about 10,000 won. It was in brand new condition, still in box, and the guy never used it.

If you are willing to part with it for 5,000 won with other items sold or 7,500 won alone, let me know.

Hi. I'm interested in the floor lamp and ironing board. It won't let me pm right now even though I have posted more than 25 times (whatever). Just email me at [email protected] or text me at 010-4391-1017. Thanks, Meri.

Please do not respond to my post unless you are interested in buying something. I am selling everything for less than I paid for and with the exchange rate going home I'm not going to strike it rich any time soon. I'm just trying to sell my stuff so I can go back to the States.

If you read my previous post, I did show interest in your blender for 7,500 won or 5,000 won with other stuff. We can even wait until you try to sell everything. I'll look at what's leftover. If you don't like that, then I won't reply again.
