In public restrooms, you are often asked to put your used toilet paper in a nasty little trash can in the corner. My question is, do you do it? OR, are you like me, and you flush it down the drain with the mentality that it isn't your septic system on the line.

I follow their example and poop in a Lotteria cup. I always flush it if I`m forced to go to a public washroom. Flush it at home too.

somebody needs to explain this to me.

You mean in Korea, they wipe their shit and then chuck the paper in those waste baskets?????????????

I've been here for like 3 and a half months, I've never shit in a public toilet. I've seen the plastic baskets at school and I sorta had the inkling that that's where they chucked the shit papers.

So what's the reason? Does it fcuk up the pipes? I've been flushing my TP at home, will that fcuk up my pipes? Where the heck do they get rid of the shit papers? do they just chuck in in the trash?

I think they put it in the basket for a couple of reasons. One is that plumbing used to used a smaller pipe diameter and the paper clogged it. Why they still use the basket, I don't know. Maybe they still use inadequate pipes. I think the other, and this might just be urban legend, is that the "night soil" used to be taken directly out to the fields, and nobody wants their fields dotted with toilet paper.

There's higher risk of getting shit on your hands when using the basket. Or getting in on your clothes. It's difficult when you have to be careful of stepping on spit on the floor at the same time.

So that's where they get the interesting flavour for the cheese. I'm still not sure where the unnatural bright orange colour comes from though...
