ANybody know how I should go about removing the dust? I've heard you can take it to certain stores or do it yourself, but all the advice on that is for DSLR....I imagine a point and shoot might be harder to work with to clean....

for those who aren't aware of this common problem, look here

Double check the outside of the lens to be sure its not something on the lens. Most point & shoots are designed to avoid this problem.

If it really is dust inside your lens, you'll have to take your point and shoot apart to clean the filter/sensor.

It's not worth sending it to a shop to do it. They'll probably charge what the camera's worth.

As you don't list the make or brand, it's a tough call as to which would be more economical.

I had a similar problem and I just used a blowdryer on all the seals of the camera and it got rid of the spot - it seems to move enough air around to get the dust moving.

Good luck!

It's a Nikon Point and shoot....it only costs $150 but I bought it in Namdaemun so It's not covered by local warranties....it's only about 4 months old.

I tried a ca can of compressed air and shaking it, nothing has worked....maybe I'll give the blow dryer a chance...too bad I don't have one...

The hair blower solution might work. You may be able to find someone who can clean it for you for about 80,000W. Not sure if it's worth it, as it's only a point and shoot. See if you can get it repaired under warranty.
