Hello everyone, I am an E2 visa holder and awhile back I was only given a single entry permit and not a multiple entry permit. I tried to fix this by asking the Consulate to change the S to a M, but the Consulate would not change it. BUT that is not the problem. I am already in Korea and at this moment I want to travel, what do I need to do exactly prior to traveling to my destination? And can someone define what an reentry permit is?

a re-entry permit is a stamp in your passport that allows you to leave the country and return without voiding your current visa status.

If you are only planning on making one trip out of the country during your current visa then the easiest thing to do it drop into the immigration office at the airport and get it there. If you plan to make multiple vacation trips out of the country then you will need to get a multi-re-entry permit from your local immigration office. It can also be done on-line but you need a means to pay for it.

a) single re-entry at the airport.
The immigration office is located in a small hallway along the back wall of the departures level behind check-in counter "F" (before you go through security). They are open from 6am - 10pm.

Fill in an application, present your ARC and passport. The cost is 30k won (unless you are from the UK - theirs is free). It takes about 15-30 minutes depending on the line in front of you.

b) at your local immigration office.
drop into your local office. Fill in an application. Present 30k for a single use permit, 50k for a multi-use permit. You need your passport and ARC. Done while you wait.

c) on line.

follow the links and follow the instructions. They only process then during business hours. Print off everything in case you have problems later.
