hi

I think this has beendiscussed before but I just wanted to check that a basic disclosure from disclosure scotland is ok for an E2 visa. My subject access request has an arrest on it coz the breathalyzer (or howeva its spelt lol) went into the red and I got arrested on suspicion of drink driving. Maybe it wont make a difference anyway. This check is out of date now and I received my basic disclosure (clean Smile))) last week in the post.

Also is this the only thing you need to get notarised and apostilled? Or do you need to get your degree notarised and apostilled too? The foreign office said you can turn up and get it done the same day and they have local solicitors who will notarise your copies.

So is the basic disclosure still ok for a uni job and is that the only one you need to apostille?

Go with the basic disclosure. Take it to a lawyer and the FO. If you're in Korea take it to the embassy.

I've only heard of notarized degrees for photocopies. Your original should be fine. But do you trust them with it?

The Disclosure Scotland check worked fine for me. I got it notarised by a solicitor round the corner from the FCO Legalisation Office in Milton Keynes (10) and then took it to be apostillised (27).

You can either send a notarised and apostillised copy of your degree certificate or send the original cert on its own. I sent off my original because it costs 30 for a replacement as opposed to paying 37 to have a copy notarised and apostillised.

Can you send the original disclosure too instead of gettin it notarised and apostilled? Coz it only costs 20 for an original so wots the point of notarising/apostilling it, it wil cost 37 lol.

This should be an important cost saver for all brits to work out. anyone know?

Get the disclosure scotland check.

Take it to the British Embassy in Seoul and ask them to stamp it (54,000won)...then immgration will accept it

You DO NOT need to get it stamped by solicitor in the UK!!!

2 of my friends went through the same process last week and Korean immigration accepted it no questions asked.

Call the British Embassy in Seoul (02 3210 5500) and they will tell you the same thing.

Ah I see...i just presummed you were already in Korea.

Well in that case I think you will have to get it stamped by a solicitor before the FCO will notarize it.

However the good news is that the basic disclosure will be accepted by the Korean Embassy in London. The British Embassy in Seoul told me that the subject access check and the basic disclosure are the only 2 that are acceptable

ye the FCO told me that there were solicitors (lurking Smile) near tp the FCO offices and will sign it there and then for a fee..in fact I mite set up my own office nearby if it's lucrative.
