guys with korean wives, why did you decide to marry a korean girl over one from your home country? I mean you can at least havea proper conversation with one from home, can't you? And how did you get over the fact your kids would be half asian and half western looking? |

first off the half asian, half western looking statement is a little racist, no?
I can understand the conversation thing, but that doesn't necessarily limit it to those who speak English as a second language. There are plenty of pretty girls back home who I wouldn't date because they wouldn't be able to carry any kind of conversation with me outside of fashion or gossip.
MODS, please move this to the correct forum

WOW! This is boarder lining bigotry and racism. Have you ever considered perhaps they may have fallen in love? Let me guess, you are single and had series of unsuccessful relationship, right? |

You sound like a Korean guy who's jealous because the girls all want western guys. Sucks to be you. |

lol last poster. About being racist, I thought about it quite a few years ago in Japan but I wasn't sure whether or not I would want kids with a japanese girl.....i dunno what it was but I got the feeling people would think you cant find someone your own race etc or something like that and also if we came to live in the UK the kids might get some stick, that's all. so it was a quetion coz I sort of went through it myself. wasnt sposed to be racist or anything |

I met her in my home country while she was finishing her PhD, tbh, no I think very few woman can do better then her.
BTW, she is too smart to get married to Koreans, cause they would have a huge problem with their wife showing publicly she is smarter then them.
And on another note, mixed kids look much better then pure breads.
cheers |

Surely they married for the same reasons as most people marry - love and all that stuff. I doubt any of them sat there and thought " This woman is Korean, therefore I will marry her." It was probably more along the lines of " I really love this woman and want to spend the rest of my life with her."
Or maybe I'm just old-fashioned... |

I never made such a conscious decision as that. I lived in Korea (still do), was actively dating and met someone I loved to be with and wanted to continue being with. <end>

Who the hell has proper conversations with any women?
In all seriousness we communicate just fine. I do however also question those that marry/couple-up when language difficulties are a major issue.

This fact DOES worry me at times. That is, it worries me IF we stay in Korea and raise them here. I think you'll find that a majority of mixed households eventually move back to the west where such things are overlooked in most regions. I hope that the ones that stay in Korea/Asia and call it home will continue to grow, and when my kids are born and being raised there will exist some sort of community of support, IE; more mixed kids in the schools, etc... But with that said I'm already considering sending them to the West for extended education. |
