We're looking at buying one of these. However, we're not sure if the OS will be in English.
The cheapest price we've found is on Gmarket, but it doesn't say whether the OS will be in English or Korean.
Are these available at Yongsan/Technomart? Or should we stick with online stores?
We realize it comes with Vista, but we've been told the 3-4GB of RAM these machines have is sufficient to tame Vista.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Ixnay on the XPS. Our budget is now under 1,000,000W. Would've been nice, but too much for our new budget.
Here's what we currently do with our notebook:
Internet
Itunes (movies/shows are always choppy)
Word
PaintShop Pro X2 (we often work with NEF files)
Skype with video
Email
Publisher
Web design
Our notebook often struggles on the graphic side of things.
We need a notebook in the 15" range with XP or enough RAM to run vista, and enough processing power to handle PaintShop Pro X2 as well as handle Itunes videos (maybe a decent graphics card, but definitely not the latest or the greatest).
Any suggestions? |

Laptops being sold in Korea with Vista on them are available in English.
Laptops / Netbooks with XP are mostly all in Korean.
Any machine running at least a 2.0GHz dual core processor with 2GB of RAM can handle all those programs on Vista with no problems.
At Yongsan, there are some 15 inch laptops in your price range with the above specs. Compaq is one brand I remember that was priced quite nicely for great specs. |

If you want itunes to run well then get a mac (but you can't with your budget.) Itunes for Windows is very badly programmed (just do a search for 'Itunes really slow'.) Stop using it to play media; just play it on vlc media player or even windows media player which isn't too bad in its latest iteration. If you have bought all your content through itunes then you cannot do this AFAIK. |
