Why can't Korea get it's ass together and offer the Iphone. I really want one but have to be content with the Touch for now. Crying or Very sad

Because, like Japan, Korea has had phones that outperform the Iphone in most, if not all, areas for years now. I think the question should be: why doesn't Apple get its ass together and build a phone that would interest Asians?

I obviously live in Korea, and have been to Japan and have seen the phones they offer. And the Iphone stands out as the obvious leader for a various amount of reasons. The rest either all look the same and have minimal functions, or are copy cats of the Iphone.

The Iphone/Ipod touch has possibly the best user interface that any cell phone has ever had. It is strong in so many ways no Korean or Japanese cell phone comes close, or could even come close in the foreseeable future. Why do you think Korea is copying the Iphone, and creating 'clones' of it.

What Korean or Japaneses model outperforms the Iphone? In terms of software? In terms of hardware? In terms of sales? In terms of user interface?

In terms of features the iphone is losing out...no tv tuner, no advanced text messaging(the stuff chicks like), no camera, limited formats for movie playback unless converted, etc. TV tuners are a big deal here.....

Aside from interface and third party applications, the iphone has been outclassed in the features that koreans generally care about....motorola does fine in this market and it's not Korean....

Your right about Koreans loving their tv tuners. Not exactly new technology, but still cool. It's still not outclassed though, because it's not been allowed to compete fairly.

I believe it's this month, or next, that Korea will lift all restrictions on the iPhone, and other foreign phone sales. Based on the disappointing sales in Japan, I don't see the iPhone being a big seller here either.

But I do see Nokia returning to the market, after leaving few years ago.
