|
|
So, the new school year starts next week, and I've been moved to a new room for the bulk of my teaching. It's probably the most lacking room in the whole hogwon, since it doesn't have any windows to the outside for ventilation, which would be so, so great on hot days.
I was ready to suck it up, until I noticed one of the Korean co-teachers plugging in a big 'air purifier' while I cleaned the room. She explained that the room was a bathroom before the building was remodeled, and that it was filled with "bad air" that would be miraculously fixed if I ran the air purifier every few days. She couldn't give a more detailed explanation than that. Just "bad air". Which somehow lacks the ability to spread to the rest of the building and clogs the lungs of only those in my room.
Should I be legit worried about my health in this situation? Or is 'bad air' the second cousin of fan death? Any opinions would be appreciated. |

Be glad there are no windows. Otherwise, they'll be open during the winter with the heat on, and in the summer with the AC on. |

Thanks for the responses, guys. I kind of figured it was a bunch of hooey, or maybe the staff is scared of the ghosts of poops past, I dunno.
Anyway, I'll just enjoy breathing in some secondhand smoke and yellow dust if I want to expose my lungs to 'bad air'. |
