It seems that at my private-public school (you'll know what that term means if you've worked in rural Korea a while), Girl Scout leaders / big-wigs - usually the leasured wives of important men in the community - now make up about half our private board. They're at every school event and often use our school on weekends to hold events. I'm not exactly sure what kind of influence they have over the school but they sure appear to be prominent and important. Most of the students who have any sort of leadership role are also Girl Scouts. My principal even tried to get me to become a Girl Scout volunteer, which I thankfully was able to worm my way out of (I'm a guy). I guess if nothing else all the saluting is a nice break from all the bowing.
Is this a common trend at other 'private-public' schools? |

You're not one of them, so let it be. |
