If you've ever heard the questionable claims Koreans sometimes make about their history, and the notion of being a 'pure race', then this might interest you.
Some Koreans I've met look like Filipinos or Indonesians but they get so offended if you say that. The belief in 'one blood' is wishful thinking at best.
It might not be SFW if you have any hardcore nationalistic types in the office. Some of the statements could be offensive to Koreans. |

| You do know that the Ministry of Education ordered references to 'pure blood' be taken out of text books, don't you? The bit about defending country and race was taken out of the pledge of alliegance two years ago. |

I didn't know that. It hasn't changed the way many people here perceive themselves and their relationship with other nations and races. I've heard educated people in their mid 20's talking about this pure bloodline. |

whatever percentage of Mongolian genetics are in Koreans it's from Korean women being rogered by Mongolian men during one of the conquerings of the peninsula
and Koreans came from much farther west, from the Urals region most likely based on linguistic evidence
it is funny what a people tells themselves to bolster the ego |

Koreans like saying they are special because of the Mongolian spot, but they fail to mention that like 95% of East Asians are born with that spot. It goes away after a few years. It's not really a spot, but looks more like a big bruise that covers the upper buttocks and lower back. In Canada some 30 years ago, doctors thought it was the result of abuse, and a few parents got into some legal troubles for no reason. |

Many Native Americans/First Nations people have that spot as well. Of course, Koreans are somewhat mixed with Southeast Asians. People often don't realize what they are mixed with. Many people from England
probably don't realize that many of them have Phoenician DNA i.e. the DNA commonly found in Lebanon and Syria. I remember seeing an Englishman who totally looked like he was straight from Lebanon, but he insisted he was purely English. The Koreans are trying to feel strong psychologically and culturally after being occupied. The idea of being mixed is not something either Japanese or Koreans discuss at length as much as people do in the West. In Japanese society, adopting even kids from the same general gene pool is not accepted like in Korea.
Adopting children is getting more and more accepted in Japan, and the Japanese Government is trying to promote it more from what I read in an article. |
