Seems Korean students don't like Japanese being taught at school in other countries. Or maybe the teacher asked him a question about Japan .... But it is good to see that the Korean male anger management style is working.

Student, 17, arrested after teacher stabbed in back
(in the back as well, Koreans don't seem to be able to do it to your face ....)
A 17-year-old student has been arrested after a teacher was stabbed in the back at Auckland's Avondale College this morning.
Inspector Cornell Kluessien said the male teacher was standing at a whiteboard in a classroom when he was stabbed by a student with a knife.
It is understood the Caucasian teacher was taking a Japanese class and was wounded just below the righthand shoulder at about 11.40am.
The injured man's name is understood to be Mr Warren.
Police arrested an international student at a Blockhouse Bay address about an hour after the stabbing.
Newstalk ZB said the student was a Korean national who had only been at the school for a few weeks.
Police said an associate of the alleged offender was also helping with inquiries.
A St John Ambulance spokesman said a man in his early fifties had been transported to Auckland hospital with serious injuries.
Inspector Earle McIntosh said the teacher's injuries were not life threatening.
A scene examination of the classroom is under way.
One reader emailed nzherald.co.nz to say that her daughter was a student at the school and had been locked in the college's squash courts while police searched for the teacher's attacker.
A brother of a student at the College said students have been threatened with expulsion if they talk to reporters.
Avondale College principal Brent Lewis has been contacted for comment but has so far not returned phone calls.
Former Prime Minister Helen Clark, MP for the Mt Albert electorate, has arrived at the school.
Students, who had been held back in class, have now been let out for lunch. |

Some glaring WTFs here.
The teacher was "taking" a Japanese class? was that a typo for "teaching" a Japanese class? And the attacker was a student in the class, or not?
In any event, good to see the Japan hang-up hasn't infected the younger Korean generation. |

| Says nothing about the student objecting to anything Japanese. Where does your assumption come from? It's probably just some beef between the two. |

Hey, why are you assuming he's Korean? Because the caucasian was stabbed in the back ninja-style? They are good at that, I've seen them bottle white guys in Hongdae clubs in this method.
But don't knock it, it's the one truly effective Korean martial Art. |

Apparently, some users don't seem to be able to read the TOS and follow simple rules on not being racist. Apparently, also some haven't heard of people being stabbed in the back in America, England, Canada etc.....Moderators shouldn't have to point out to instructors of adults or children such things.....
Follow the TOS. It is not optional.

Mr Lewis told a media conference the stabbing was an isolated incident, and that international students were an important part of the school.
He described the incident as "an aberration, and such a bizarre incident".
All students who witnessed the stabbing had been interviewed by police, and had been offered counselling.
It is understood the Caucasian teacher was taking a Japanese class and was wounded just below the righthand shoulder at about 11.40am.

An Avondale College student, Manaola Kaumeafaiva, 14, was stabbed to death outside the college in October 2006, after a hip-hop competition organised by a church.
Petani Fa'avae, 16 at the time, was found guilty of murder and jailed for life with a minimum parole period of 11 years.
Prime Minister John Key was today meeting Korean President Lee Myung-Bak in Auckland, and afterwards told NZPA he was shocked by the stabbing.
"This is somewhat alarming ... but we need to understand whether it's an isolated incident out of left field or whether something a bit more serious is going on," he said.
"If it's an isolated incident, we will have to find out the mental state of the student involved.
"I understand he is a foreign student so we will have to look at the implications of that.
"We're literally earning billions of dollars from foreign students who are coming to study in New Zealand."
[There were 32,000 law-abiding, honest and trustworthy Koreans living in this country and it was important not to tarnish the reputation of a large group of foreign students who were coming to study in New Zealand, or indeed the Korean people, because of the actions of one person, he said.
"It is possible to get a random individual who is suffering from some sort of mental condition who undertakes an action which is totally reprehensible," Mr Key said.
"There's been issues with foreign students in the past and we've worked hard to try and improve the conditions around them and the partial care that we give those students who come to New Zealand." |

^^^ I don't think the first article was heavily edited. The herald online tends to add more to existing articles rather than make new ones.
It sounds like the teacher will be okay (well, physically at least). I hope the little punk that stabbed him gets severely punished; teachers shouldn't have to worry about being assaulted in the classroom. I read the other day that some schools in Auckland have a full-time cop on site; I hope this isn't the start of a very worrying trend. |
