I've noticed that if you download using torrents, you often get the artwork (poster) associated with the original dvd or cd.
Is this for real? Seems too good to be true as if there's a catch. Do you think downloading via torrents is being monitored by the powers that be? It's pretty amazing. |

lol, have you been living under a rock?
I am sure it is monitored.. that is why many people use PG2 or the like. |

I didn't really download from torrents when i was in the states, but i do an extreme amount now that i'm in korea. Dont' think RIAA or the Movie industry can do much to you while you're over here. My friend back in the states, just got a warning last week for having a movie shared on bittorrent. They sent a letter (or called..not sure) to her ISP and the ISP suspended her service for 48 hours and told her not to do that again. Basically, a slap on the wrist. Not sure how to hide it while in the states, but maybe try what livinginkunsan suggested.

I find it hilarious and ironic that americans quake in fear about State monitoring.
Aren't you "the land of the free"? Or is that just a big pile too?

I've been downloading recklessly for going on three years. And i mean hundreds and hundreds of gigs of music and movies and have never ever had a single problem/warning.

Fuk 'em. I'd be happy to pay for cinema quality download movies, but the big studios don't seem to have cottoned on to online demand. If they focused on creating business synergies instead of plowing money into shaking people like us down, then they might actually make some coin from on-demand sales.
People getting their wrists slapped are a drop in the torrent ocean. I wouldn't worry about. You're more likely to get caught teaching privates. |

RIAA went after a couple kids at my college during the Napster days. They actually got fined pretty big and a good wrist slapping by the school.
Nowadays though all the piracy is hard to track not being downloaded from a central server. Distributed filesharing is the bees knees. |
