So, you have 2 weeks in March and a couple of million won to blow in one of these two countries. Where would you go?

Scuba diving is a must but other than that I am easy. I'm especially interested in hearing from those who have been to both.

I have been to both. I enjoyed both very much, and I can highly recommend either one for a nice holiday. I think Cambodia has the edge for a number of reasons.

-Angkor Wat is amazing
-It is far cheaper
-The people are friendlier
-The infrastructure is much less developed, and that is rapidly changing .... see it while you still can

There are tons of things to see in Vietnam, but you simply won't have enough time to do it in 2 weeks.

"It's a holiday in Cambodia..." and "Good bye Vietnam..."

Cambo is a much better overall deal-- w/ a 'couple of million' as you stated, you'll be a king (or queen) in Cambo....Not so in Vietnam...

I was recently in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, and they were all amazing. Vietnam has, by far, the most variety. Laos was amazingly beautiful and laid-back. Cambodia, with Angkor, was stunning but it's just 1 day's worth of sightseeing. Enjoy them all.

Cambodia by far over Vietnam. I'm stereotyping, but the people who work in tourism in Vietnam were liars, cheats and rude. Cambodians are not.

I think a 2-week trip to Vietnam would just about cover everything, if you start from Hanoi and end in HCMC (or vice versa). I think there is more variety in Vietnam, which you'll see as you travel through the central region. The war museum in HCMC is definitely interesting, and you can scuba dive in Nha Trang.

However, things in Vietnam are more expensive and people aren't as friendly... It's irritating to have to be EXTRA cautious than you would have to be in other countries, if you're looking to have a laid back vacation. Of course there are touts in any country you go to, but it left a particularly bad impression on me since it seemed like there was a higher proportion of people who were trying to rip me off than say, in Thailand or Cambodia. Some even got verbally aggressive. Confused

I've only been to Siem Reap so I can't comment on the rest of Cambodia, but it was a great experience.

Do Hanoi just to say you've been to Hanoi but I have to tell you, they are the dodgiest people I had the displeasure of coming across in SE Asia. Use ONLY Mailin taxis in Hanoi as every other company is out to screw you. My travel companion and I were screwed twice in 5 minutes. We didn't pay them a dime but we did curse at them and climbed out of their taxis. We had that luxury as we are both pretty big guys. Always, always, always keep your bag with you (not in the trunk/boot) when in Hanoi! It would take a lot to get me back in that town!

I did both on a month long trip.
I spent a few days in Phnom Penh and got a 3 day pass for Angor Wat. You definitely need more than a day!
You could spend a week in Cambodia and a week in Southern Vietnam.
But actually I liked the northern part of Vietnam better like Halong Bay, Hanoi and Hoi An.

I forgot to get a passport photo for my Cambodia visa. Is it possible to get it done at Incheon airport?!

cambodia just seemed more relaxed that Vietnam!

san riep and Phonon penn were both cool places..

you need at least 3 days in san Riep. take your time and chill, you dont want to be rushed there..

Pp, busy town but seems laid back...
Vietnam is full on!! very busy and you need to be careful thieves everywhere!

I didn't like traveling in Vietnam at all but I voted for it because two weeks in Cambodia may be boring. Vietnam has three things going for it: 1. great food 2. comfortable train travel - avoid taxis and buses if you can 3. lots to do and see.
