All the recruiting agencies are telling me it's not. Also, I don't have any kind of teaching certification. Another thing is, how do they go about verifying a criminal background check? It seems like tons of people could alter their documents. I would never do so, because of sheer paranoia, but how is a criminal background check full proof? Their policies regarding this matter are retarded IMO.
Anyone know of any good resources for people who have DUIs and don't have any teaching certifications? |

My countryman, I think if you are expecting some help we need to 'feel for you' in your current situation. That entails telling us what exactly what events led to your arrest (I presume you were busted) and what caused you to end up with a DUI.
After your explanation, when people are more easily able to understand your situation, you will be more likely to receive helpful advice.
So, what's the dilly? |

Well, nothing special happened. It was just your routine DUI. I failed to dim my headlights while passing an officer and he pulled me over. I was in college and made a bad decision. It was about four years ago and I never drink and drive anymore as it's not worth going to jail or getting hurt. Now, I want to teach in Taiwn, China or Japan. |

| Try China. I have a DUI, too but I never got asked for a CRB. I also worked in Thailand and Spain - no CRB, so no DUI as far as I'm concerned. |

Go to Thailand, DUI is the norm there, so no need to worry about it. |

Is it possible to teach in Korea with a DUI. Yes, it is. Is it possible to get rejected for a DWI/DUI? Yes. I know there are people with DUIs teaching in Korea, and I have heard of people being rejected for having them.
You can go to Japan and China without any problems. It's hard to know what the laws are in Korea. It's one thing to put standards in place, and it's one thing to make them clear and uniform for the benefit of those who want to work here or hire teachers. |

| If it's not a criminal offense in your state it won't show up on an FBI check. Get a state check from a state you didn't get a DUI in. Peace. |

Is it the law in Georgia you have to dim your headlights (did you mean highbeams???) when you pass an officer? |
