Is it possible to return an item at E-Mart? Do they have any kind of return policy? I bought a large tea kettle yesterday (couldn't find anything else), but found a really small one today at Lotte and would much rather have that one. It's still sealed...can I return it?

Take it out of the box, use it, and return it with no receipt. It's OK.

Agreed! One good thing about Korea (at least E-mart) is customer service.

Late last year I bought a leather jacket for about 100,000 won. About 3 weeks later, one of the teeth on the zipper (wretched zipper problems have been discussed here before) broke off.

I took the jacket back a week later, one month after purchase with no receipt, and they gladly without question exchanged it for a brand new one.

Sadly the brand new jacket has the same issue with the zipper about 2 months after that. I did not bother to exchange that one, just chalked it up to bad design for the brand (Rothschild) Considering how easily I had it exchanged the first time, I probably could have taken the second one back and gotten it exchanged a 3rd time, but just gave up on it and bought a cheap 30,000 won Henry Brown jacket that has been great!

You should have no problems exchanging anything at e-mart. Getting a refund however may be a very different story.

I recently bought a new LG Cyking vacuum cleaner with a steam function at E-mart, and was taken for an 80,000 won ride on the price. I was planning to buy a cheaper model on supersale, and just like they hope you do, I ended up walking out with a better (overpriced) model. I used it, then checked the price on the internet the next day.

I wanted to just return it and get my money back, but my wife is quite conservative and refused, calling it unethical. Laughing

I bought a "behind-the-head" headset for talking on Skype from Emart because it looked like the best one. But I ended up returning it after a week because it just seemed too small for my big head and it was awkward to use.

They did refund my money but it took about 15 minutes to make them understand I wanted a refund and not an exchange. If I had to I would have just gotten another model there, but I really wanted to shop around.

Well mine is unopened and still has that extra piece of plastic all around it. It sounds like I'll be able to return/exchange it for a smaller one, though I'm not really sure how I'll be able to get that across to them. Should be interesting...
