Are there perks to getting a Korail membership? Does this give you discounts?

I take the KTX 8 times a month, and I'd like to get some sort of discount if there is one.

I heard that you can get a business pass for about 80,000 that gives you unlimited travel for a few months. Is it true?

If so, I will kiss you on the lips for 10 seconds.

Each time you travel you get points.. you can use the points to pay for your ticket(s). I've got like 4 free tickets out of them so far...

Yes, you can get discounts but it's pretty measly.

You definately need a ktx business card. A six month, 90 journey ticket is 80,000. 1 year, 180 journeys is 160,000. The earlier you reserve seats using this card the greater the discount

I am sorry to resurrect this thread, but could you elaborate on this.

90 journeys in 6 months = 80,000 won, or the card itself costs 80,000 won?

The card itself costs 80,000won. With that card, you can get more discounts that a normal card wouldn't give you. However, if you do take the train that many times, you do indeed save a lot more than the 80,000won you have to pay for the card.
For example, a normal KTX card, the most discount it would give you is 20%, and that is only if you book 2months~ to 30days in advance. However a business card would give you something like 40% off.
