I for one am really happy to be spending 80% less on my high-speed internet bill (in comparison to Comcast's price) and having faster speeds. turns out when i do torrents, anything over 2Mbit in speeds overloads my hdd. oh well, the potential is there
without further due:
download:18770 kb/s
upload:2845 kb/s
ping: 38 ms
who has a 100 Mbit connection?

Assuming high speed and fast ping is the goal,
wtf? Am I really that far out in the sticks?

For those of you getting decent upload speeds, what service provider do you use? I use Megapass Premium and my upload is pathetic. For torrents it potentially poses a huge problem as you are supposed to upload at least on a 1:1 basis. Sadly I cannot as it just trickles a few kilobytes and that's it. I thought about portforwarding but my buddy who used to be in tech said that it's the ISP that controls the upload throttle. Anyway I would gladly switch to another provider if I knew I'd get decent upload speeds. Any info. would be greatly appreciated. |

Change your port, and make sure you have encryption on.

That speedtest isn't very accurate. I can torrent a movie to someone in korea in 4 minutes yet it gives me an upload of about 500kbps. |

Yeah but every time I've gone to portforwarding.com it asks me for my router which I do not know, in fact I think I've tried to find the name of it on the list but never found it. Anyway it looks WAY too complicated to try and portforward. I've gone to the options in utorrent and clicked on "open a random port each time" but still no luck. I would really like to get a decent upload. I can download really fast but uploading is the problem. |
