There is a map for the location of this store on the site. Mr. Cho is a very nice guy who speaks some English. I bought all my gear there. He is also a guide and can point you in the right direction as far as where to go and what to use.

I don't know if it is the same fellow, but I have heard of a company that makes rods for many big name companies out in the Bucheon area and will sell some rods from the factory at very reasonable prices. I have been trying to reach my former fishing companions - who know where it is - so that I can visit the factory.

xingyman, Shamus and others: We need to get together and do a serious trip out to Gangwando this spring. I haven't been since the fall and after looking at recent posts and pictures on the Anglers town site a few nights ago, I felt a decided urge try my luck once more.

I'd be way interested in any Korean fishing pics. Go for it.

The warmer Spring water is waking up the big boys. I've had 2 biggish Nabrachis in the last week (they've been absent since Nov).

Also, the larger rivers are now full of juvenile Noochis (1-2 lb) (from last year's spawning). Looking from the local bridge, I can see these guys nymphing like mad - in very deep water - and taking large white caddis grubs (I think). No good for fly fishing (too deep - dirty water etc) - but some are taking soft-tail soft-tail plastics - but what the hell. It's all fishin'.

hey there old fat farang, where you finding the fishin holes? I haven't seen anything, but I'm not driving anything. Was hoping to locate a lake, trout stream, or something, but I guess I need to get something to drive to get out there.

OK seems a bit late to post this but please if you are looking for fly fishing gear in Seoul go here:
http://www.freestone.co.kr/

The owners name is Park, you can call him he speaks great english. He is basically the Disributor for Simms in Korea and he carries EVERYTHING you need a COMPLETE selection of fly tying gear and fishing gear from all the major US brands. Simms, Sage, Winston, Scott, TFO, Ross, Lamson etc etc.

His shop is located near Olympic park, I couldnt tell you exactly where but he can probably explain it or explain it to a taxi driver.

If you go in or call tell him you got his info from Colorado Dennis.

Wow! Thanks for that. I'll be drooling over that gear - forever. But, pricey. Sooooo pricey.

Check out the photo gallery (Left Hand Menu - 2 down). Heaps of photos.
My mates have been ribbing me about the small size of the fish I catch in Thailand - but I can't wait to email them photos of Koreans catching 6 inchers on 2 weight fly rods (costing over $1,000). Now that's enthusiasm.

Anyone have directions to the shop? I can't read the website.
