i HATE being pushed, too. i've been for about 6 months now and it still makes my blood boil. it's SO RUDE. so the way i deal with it is - i give them the death glare and mutter to myself (loudly) in English. the pushing will never end, and there's nothing we can do about it soooo i just deal with it. |

i'm fairly used to strangers pushing in the subway, grocery store, or on the street, but i don't think i'll ever get used to how the teachers in my school push in the lunch line. to me, it's a lot ruder than strangers pushing because i know who they are |

I used to get pushed in October, but then my toilet clogged and I needed to buy a plunger. So I went to the store and bought a plunger. On the way back home, I had a plunger in my hand, instead of like before when I didn't have a plunger.
I noticed immediately that people were getting out of my way a lot. At first I didn't know why, but then I noticed I was carrying a plunger. The next day, I went out again and got shoved some more. The day after that, I took my plunger out with me, and once again people were getting out my way. Perplexed, I began a multi-week experiment in which I carried a plunger, and did not carry a plunger around.
I have found that an inverse correlation exists between "plunger carrying" and "getting shoved."
It could just be a coincidence, but I suspect that I have a magical, Korean-repelling plunger. If you would like to rent my plunger, let me know. Rates negotiable. |

Make yourself as big as possible... Square the old shoulders, stand up straight, and walk like you mean business... When someone gets too close make your arms ridged and walk as normal... They want to run into you, that's their problem... I've even thrown the elbow in for good measure at times (I hate 20 something K-chicks trying to blow past me as I'm getting off the subway... They face the wrath of my wide stance and big arms and it makes me smile, lol)...
Mind you, I'm saying this as it applies in most cases... I'm not about to advise bowling over a 90 year old woman if she doesn't deserve it, lol |

I have a really bad shoulder from an old war wound, so I find myself having to lead with that shoulder (facing something head on with it is not painful...getting in it is massivly painful), so I find myself barreling a few people over from time to time because of their rudeness. I go out of my way to avoid people, but I discovered that when I move out of the way for one person, someone else clocks me almost every time. So now, I just head right into them and let them hit the floor. I don't mean to do it to be mean or rude, but I really don't want to be spending the next hour trying to get the pain to subside. And people steer clear of me because my stance makes it known that I'm not going to move, whether you are a 20 year old girl, the King of Spain or Schwarzeneger himself. They're all getting knocked back if they're going to pull the usual rude walk right into you routine. Most of the time, it's never a problem. It's just those few times when you know someone has no concept of space. |

I don't get pushed at all. I like to think it's because I am handsome, but it's probably because I'm just not ugly.

I don't get pushed either. Bumped and nudged a little, which is understandable considering there's about a bazillion people here. |

Pushing is very rare....I think it only happens to twigs or oblivious types who plow through everything. I say it happens once every 1-2 months. |

I really can't stand the pushy people who think their destinations are more important than anyone elses'.
Living in Korea, I've now picked up the dirty habit of cutting. I do it so naturally now. I'm almost afraid of getting punched in the face when I do it back home and not even notice it. |
