The weather is getting warmer, and that means lots of weekend trips to different cities and places. I figured this would be a good place to get some fresh ideas.
What are the best spots you've been to in Korea? Anything goes, from temples to hikes to camping sites, etc.

If you are into the natural thing, have a trip to the Upo Wetlands. Very beautiful, not many people, makes for a great day-long bike ride.

Seoraksan! Went in early May, it was gorgeous, and not too packed yet.

If you're into the getting wasted thing, Mud Festival. Hands down, the most fun i have had in Korea. For the most part, even the GI's are cool.

I second Gyeongju. Also Jeongdongjin on the east coast for the sunrise, though not the best idea to go there in winter. Andong Folk Village, Boseong, Yeosu, Damyang.

There's a not so well known mountain called DaeDunSan that's out in the middle of nowhere. If you go at the right time it's fairly deserted, and gorgeous.

Go stay with a host family (minbakso, I think) down by Namhae. I did that a couple of years ago and with fishing with them. It's really beautiful there and it's interesting because there are no high rises (that I saw) everyone lives in a proper house.

Used to like to go to Geoje-do. It's getting quite crowded these days!

the south of geoje-do, it's hard to find anywhere nicer in all of korea, plus there is the nicest samgyetang restaurant next to namsan / mangsan mountain (can't fully remember the name), but the chickens walk around outside, and they are huge....just order your chicken before climbing the mountain and it will be ready for you when you come back down.

I also recommend gyeong ju too, really worth a visit in may time, nice and warm, historical attractions, water park and great quad biking (ATV) too!!
