Anyone know for sure how this works?....or is supposed to work?
My school let me go after 10 days due to everything falling apart....construction of new school behind schedule....lost financing etc.
So, I have a letter of release and have been told by some that I can not transfer my E2 because I have been working there for less than 9 months. Others have told me it is possible to transfer E2 to a new school only if it states a special circumstance in the letter of release such as bankruptcy.
Help? |

Op, I feel for you. Can't say I know the answer though. There should be a provision in the immigration laws for an easy transition. I hope your school will at least give you one months pay for your troubles. |

Hope to get paid for a month but won't know until money is in hand.
Anyone know about transferring E2 to another school?
Seems waist of money/time to do a visa run. |

I know for a fact that you can transfer to a public school before the 9 month mark but I'm not sure about transferring to a hagwon. |

I was able to transfer mine (three months in the last job) with no difficulties.
The worst case scnerario is that you do a run to Fukouka.

I am trying to transfer a soon expiring visa at the end of this month. I think it can be a hassle. My current visa expires March 30th and my, now useless, release letter is dated March 30th as well.
I am trying to get signed onto a job that starts April 11th and its becoming a hassle to get all my documents.
Does anyone know what documents you need to get a new visa after you have already given a criminal check and medical check for the first visa? |

WHen I phoned 1345 last week, I was told that if you leave the country between contracts (ie. you are unemployed/ not currently holding a valid E2), you need to re-submit your criminal check and health check. Kinda sucks because I am looking for a new job for APril (current contract expires April 2) but if I dont have anything solid, I will go to Fukuoka or lunch from Busan, get a fresh tourist visa, and have to submit all my docs once again when I do find a decent job. |

Do you still have yours? Immigration kept mine. DOesn't matter, I *think* that the criminal check must have been issued less than 6 months from date of submission to Immigration. |
