I want to get a new point-and-shoot camera, as I don't always want to carry around my heavy SLR. I was going to get one at Yongsan when I was in Seoul in January, but I missed my opportunity.
Is there anywhere in Mokpo or Gwangju that has similarly cheaply priced electronics?

Have you been to Kumho World (금호월드)? It's right behind E-Mart and the Gwangju Bus Terminal. It's Gwangju's version of Techno Mart, though much smaller selection.

Nope. Haven't been there. I can certainly check that out though. I accidentally left all my sweaters in the US, so I need to go to Gwangju to do some shopping this weekend anyway. |

To the OP,
I have a DSLR a Canon Rebel are lenses cheaper in Korea or back in the states? I was considering grabbing a new lens or two if they are cheaper? Where do you suggest going for said lenses if they are cheaper?

They're cheaper at Yongsan than in the states, but you have to be able to spot fakes, know your stuff, and know how much the lenses you're looking at actually cost. I've had good luck with haggling the merchants down there, but anywhere else in the country they won't budge. So, I suggest Yongsan, if you know what you're doing. |
