I may have posted this question before but who cares? Everybody likes music, right? I am wondering if one song sticks out over many years, 20 years or more for me, at least.
I'll go with with Dylan's "Mr Tambourine Man"
To hear it once or twice a year is OK. I cannot think of another song that has kicked me as much, though there may be a few.
That one has a place in my head I guess, for some reason. |

Hard to say, it largely depends on the context, I like a lot of different music for a lot of different reasons at a lot of different times.
The first time I heard Penderecki's "Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima" completely blew my mind and changed the way I thought about modern musical techniques. I've only listened to it maybe three times in the past ten years. It's an amazing piece of work:

You think that's whacky, try John Cage's "As Slow as Possible" (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/2728595.stm) or anything by Xenakis. Music isn't limited to your interpretation of the term. Why is everyone so bloody stuck in the Romantic Era? |

While I MIGHT be able to choose only one album as my favorite of all time, I couldn't choose one song as my favorite. A top ten list maybe, but even that would be hard.

This thread got me back into "listening" to Crass. Lovely band that they are.
I urge every Christian to listen to "Reality Asylum" by Crass. It's available on YouTube. It should be listend to with the lights off and the volume turned to the max; that's the only way to appreciate such a classic number. Lights off and volume off.
